Description
She was found alone beside a very busy roadway near the Metro station, in an area with very few homes nearby. She appeared completely unfamiliar with her surroundings. When I first saw her, I thought she was an elderly, sick dog who had been severely neglected and possibly abandoned. She was extremely thin, filthy, and exhausted. Her fur was heavily matted, especially around her face, and she had a very strong odor. Mosquitoes were hovering around her, making me wonder if she had been there for quite some time. All four of her paws had abrasions and appeared tender, suggesting they had been scraped against a rough surface. Despite her terrible condition, she was incredibly friendly and showed no signs of aggression. It was only after bringing her home, bathing her many times, and carefully removing the matted fur that I realized she wasn't an elderly dog at all. She appeared to be a very young puppy. What breaks my heart is thinking about what could have happened if I hadn't found her. She was right beside a busy roadway, and it might have been only a matter of time before she wandered into traffic.

If you are her owner, after everything this little puppy has been through, one last good thing you can do for her is to reach out and provide her previous veterinary records and any relevant health documents. This would help make her transition into a permanent safe, loving home much smoother, where she can finally receive the love, care, and security she deserves for all the love she is trying to give.
