Our beloved Boots went out late 2 nights ago and hasn’t returned. She tends to be wary of strangers but is extremely loving once she lets you get close.

She could be in a garage or someone’s house, or at the shelter.

This can help protect and find missing people and animals: Talk to St Francis St Anthony (lost things, including pets, people, and possessions) St Gertrude Nivelles (cats) or St Roch for help and protection. They have helped us with comfort reunification and closure when necessary. Hope you find your loved ones safe and sound soon. Probably can also help with health issues, crises, emergencies, and other pet related issues. Also adoptions, placements, and maybe St Anthony and others can help with missing people. Also a local family was reunited with their dog after 4 years!! A cat somewhere was found after 13 years of being missing!! Never give up!

from SPCA on how to find a lost cat: look around for the closest hiding places. Bring a flashlight look in storm drains; in the heavy brush; up in trees, inside or under sheds; inside garages; under decks; and inside bat crawl spaces – any place where your cat can hide. Stay close by – newly adopted or indoor-only cats are often found within a 3 house radius of their home. Remember your cat may not meow back when you call even though your cat is most likely close by. Your cat is most likely hunkered down to the ground and ready to dart away from any perceived threat – even from you! A cat’s instinct is to hide, stay put, and NOT meow. Put Food, Water, Litter Box, and Bedding Outside: place near the point of escape or close to a good hiding spot nearby. Use strong-smelling canned cat food that your cat can smell from a distance, so your cat knows where to go for food a can of tuna or sardines works wonders. Go out extremely late at night and early mornings with a flashlight and can of tuna, keep your garage door or patio door open a little so the cat can get in. LEAVE YOUR DOOR OPEN SLIGHTLY DURING THE TIME YOUR HOME SO IT CAN GET BACK IN, MAYBE EVEN PUT SOME FOOD BY THE DOOR. Talk to Neighbors: Immediately start talking to your closest neighbors. and ask them to actively search their own property for your cat. Put signs up in your immediate neighborhood with large print saying, “LOSS CAT.” Include a photo, date lost, and phone number where you can be reached 24/7. It could take days, or longer, to get your cat back inside. Do not give up if your cat fails to show up after a day or so. And do not just wait for your cat to come back. You need to actively search for and lure your cat back home. Keep looking in those same old hiding spots – depending on how much time has passed, your cat may be moving from one hiding spot to another. Also, try new spots and enlarge your search area step by step, house by house. Post on "Next-door" app for your area, Go out looking for your fur baby and when found keep the cat inside. check www.washoecounty.us/animal/lost_and_found/index.php, for found pets. I would also check the Nevada Humane Society and look at pictures of cats up for adoption, in case kitty was found and no0t claimed in 5 days and sent there for adoption. Have you asked neighbors to check inside their sheds, garages and under decks? Maybe give them some food to put in these places for few days to see it it gets eaten, also water. There was a loss cat found locked in a shed for 2 weeks alive but skinny, so it's possible. Are you sure kitty got out could be hiding in house, check under, in and behind all furniture and appliances, check in all drawers and cabinets, under mattress and in all vents .

Poor baby prayers post some ads up around that area rewards always helps go out walking the neighborhood knocking on doors ask your local neighbors to check their garages sheds under decks under vehicles behind bushes and Barnes check with local veterinarians check with local animal, shelter and Humane Society you must let them know you lost your cat Prayers pull some ads on local lost and found sites. You can Google these in your area. Prayers such as neighbors next door and so on you should be able to Google five or six in your area of prayers. you could also try putting your cats bed, especially bed works great blanket toys, and some of the dirty clothing from inside the house. Do not wash the items such as T-shirts, sweaters, blankets sheets put these items out on your porch. Keep your eyes open animals have a great sense of smell change outside items every couple of days this works great for cats and dogs. They work for me and my cat several times over the years when you can’t get back home I suggest a name tag with phone number a loose, small leather dog collar and a AirTag so you will know where your cat is 24 seven prayers they work great you can get these three items from Amazon delivered for around $40 per cat prayers. This is what I had to do for my cat he sneaks out about three times every summertime and I found out the bed and blanket and dirty clothes works great out on your porch. Keep your eyes open. They like to come home in the night prayers might be open your garage door or front door just a little bit prayers.

Walk up and down your neighborhood while shaking your favorite bag of food or treats or whatever brings your kitty running to you at all times of morning , day and night. You may also want to consider using one of those toy laser lights at night to bring your cat out of hiding. Knock on neighbor’s doors and give them a good contact number in case they see her. Very important in case they are stuck in a garage or shed or God forbid even hurt. Not everyone will see your fliers and post. If you have a garage or front door, leave it cracked open just enough for kitty and leave bedding or clothing that has your scent, also leave food and water, but be aware of predators. Remember in most cases, she will be close by, so don’t give up and keep looking. You may want to consider borrowing or buying a humane trap. Be persistent and consistent and most importantly, Don’t Stop Looking! Not all cats will just show up at your door. It took us over a month to get our kitty home with the help of neighbors. God Bless you and your fur babies. Be aware of scammers. They ask for number codes and money.
