Dee Pa Lani passed her on to a kind lady who has bathed him and fed him. She’s been in touch with people who think he might be their dog. She’s aware that there’s a 24 hour rule to reporting the pup. My friend has met with her in person and offered guidance on caring for the pup and local resources to get him vaccinated (HSSV clinic tomorrow at capital park and bark in the park on Saturday). It sounds like the pup was pretty matted and full of fleas and was mistreated because it was triggered by certain hand gestures. Unfortunately it seems like there’s another found or lost Maltipoo almost daily in San Jose. I’ve been watching trends in NorCal and I’ve observed that many male poodle mixed dogs are being used for backyard breeding and then dumped around the 9 month mark once they’ve sired a couple of litters. This is why many dogs being placed in shelters tend to be in tact males that are under a year old. For now we don’t know if this is a lost pet but I suspect it lived in neglect for a while and was swiftly abandoned. Small poodle mixes are companion animals and aren’t wired to wander as a stray for long and these backyard breeders think tying an animal up is an act of kindness because it prevents them from walking into traffic. Feel free to pass this information to other threads and next door, I think I’m tapped out for today. Thank you!

Dee Pa Hi, Lani connected me with the woman who is fostering the pup and she’s working with my partner who is involved with local rescue. Everyone is up to speed on next steps on posting the pup as found and logging w the shelter. Appreciate everyone for being passionate and on top of this.
