If you happen to post on the Houston Pawboost Community (with orange banner) you must ignore the trolls asking you to pm them for their paid services. They’ll take your money!! That specific Pawboost Community site for Houston ISN’T MONITORED and those scammers know it! They have legit-looking facebook pages but stay away! They steal other people’s posts. There’s other scammers that steal posts as their on and ask for donations, and get them, for dogs they DIDN’T HELP! Readers and donors don’t know any better. Several Houston rescues have encountered this. Also, Neighbor Ring has a report option for soliciting.

I’m not far from that area. I’ll be at one time or more traveling in that direction today to several businesses. If you pm me quickly, I’m at the horse track right now and five miles from the school and it’s nearing sunrise when dogs usually wake and search for food. I can drive that way now! Will you pm me? I’ll keep your name and info private. In the meantime, check between houses as lost dogs search out a safe place with less human traffic and generally return to it after they’ve wandered. Unless he’s super friendly and will go up to anyone and someone has him. Are you on Nextdoor Pets Lost and Found group? It may have a specific group for your area private or public just like facebook has for specific community group names and there’s lost / found groups for areas too. Google for online sites with words as ‘Which are the list and found online sites for lost animals.’ There should be several that pop up. PetcoLoveLost that has facial recognition that matches with other dogs. There’s Lost My Doggie and many others online. You never know where an owner may post as Found. If microchipped, be certain it’s registered with current information. Dogs often appear at a home that already has dogs as they scent the dogs there. That’s happened a lot! So if you find homes that have dogs, ask them if they’ve seen him. You can also tape a 4” x 6” flyer to the ‘outside’ of mail boxes (never inside, illegal!). Flyers are the best tool to get them home.
