I live less than a mile away, off Center, and will keep an eye out. We have outdoor cats, so he might show up. I will call for him when I take my evening walks.

I’ve learned that some chip companies no longer are operating. Is that how someone could take your cat not realizing it had a home. How could some one keep him otherwise, knowing he belonged to you? That is really sad.

If you haven’t already, put up flyers ASAP w/ Montgomery’s photo, your contact info, and a note asking people to check for him in their garages, shops, and on their Ring Phones. Go out early or late with a flashlight, and call his name slowly. Search for him in bushes, culverts, and way way up trees — anywhere he might have gone to escape from a dog or coyote. Contact nearby shelters and vets to see if he’s been brought in to be chipped, or was simply turned in. Post him on Nextdoor to reach the many local people who don’t use Facebook. Nextdoor helped friends and us locate our missing pets when no other site did. If you think he’s been stolen, regularly check Pet Finder, Rescue Me, Craig’s List, Marketplace and other sites that rehome or sell animals. Best of luck.
