Omg. Why the collar. German shepherd's. Are ultra intelligent. Easy to try.. as a kid ours .walked to heel. No prong collar. Training that's it. Consider changing the collar.

James Sandercock Sally Gutteridge used t train dog for the military and she's very experienced with big powerful breeds. She's written about the emotional damage done to dogs by using prongs. If you're interested in learning more about the dogs she now trains without aversives, she's on social media. The examples are out there but because force free won't put a dog into a situation until it has the ss to cope well with that particular situation, that doesn't make for good social media. All you see is a dog standing there looking calm. What you don't see is the time and patience taken to help that particular dog get to that level of calm.

Jo Bailey you clearly do need a trainer if you need to use punishment tools. The RSPCA even advises against using prongs because "they cause unnecessary suffering"

Out of curiosity...can the dog actually bark with that on or will it hurt the dog ??? I have never ever used 1 so obviously dont know how they work.
