🚨 **MISSING CAT: SMOKEY JOE** 🚨 **Please help reunite him with his best friend, Jeremiah.** Smokey Joe, the grey cat, is missing. He belongs to our cat Jeremiah—the black one—and Jeremiah **sorely misses him**. Now, in the interest of full disclosure: Smokey Joe is moderately intellectually disabled and has explosive diarrhea that cannot be cured. We have tried everything. **Seriously. Everything.** He also hates nearly everything and everyone except Jerry. Unless it’s 3 a.m. At approximately 3 a.m., Smokey Joe suddenly remembers that he is grateful for free food and central A/C. He expresses this gratitude by climbing onto the head of any available human, **kneading nonstop with his samurai-sword-like claws, licking your eyelids while drooling profusely, and yowling loudly and completely out of tune.** He is, by most reasonable standards, a terrible roommate. But Jeremiah loves him. And Jeremiah wants his weird, angry, gastrointestinally challenged best friend to come home. So yes, **we will reluctantly take Smokey Joe back—but only for Jerry.** If you know where Smokey Joe is, have seen him wandering around, or mistakenly let him into your hse and are now deeply regretting that decision, **PLEASE let us know or allow him to come back home to Jeremiah.** No questions asked. Honestly, we understand. 🐈 **SMOKEY JOE:** Grey cat 🖤 **BEST FRIEND:** Jeremiah, who is currently heartbroken 🏠 **NEEDS TO COME HOME:** Yes, unfortunately **Please share. Jerry misses his buddy.**

I recommend you look in close neighbours outbuildings we found ours in backyard neighbor RV- they had looked but he hid we found him 3 days later he was fine but I hate to think if we hadn’t. Just have a flyer with you and kindly ask to have a quick look so you can call out to him as cats frequently hide when frightened. I hope kitty is home 🔜 🙏2 cats found by their owners recently one in a garage and other in a shed. At neighbors 👍

LOST CAT OPEN DOOR Scatter the contents of your hoover bag around the outside boundary of your home - they can scent their way home from miles away, using the familiar smell of your home. If putting out clothing make sure that it hasn’t been washed so that it smells of “you”. Going out late at night/ early morning when it is quieter and less noise distraction around will make it easier for you to hear each other’s calls. If you are calling for him make sure you do this as you walk towards your home not away from it so that if he follows the direction of your voice you’re leading him home, not further away. Also ask any neighbours to check their sheds/ outbuildings in case he’s been inquisitive and got trapped inside somewhere. If he is an indoor cat he is likely scared and hiding somewhere very close by - look under/behind any items/objects that he may be seeking shelter from - under bushes, behind bins etc. when searching at night take a torch - the light from its beam will reflect in his eyes and you will be able to spot him even if he doesn’t respond to your calls. Put up posters in all surrounding streets and inform the microchip company that he is missing.Put out water, and some of YOUR dirty clothes (dirty socks are nice and stinky)/blankets (dry in dryer first to enhance smell). Depending on the weather, you might want to put out a plastic tub with straw for shelter. Go out every morning and evening walking (folks seem successful around 10:30 p.m., but don't go alone) with food/treats in bowl rattling it, calling your cats name. Cats are often hiding within a 5-house radius. Do NOT give up. There was a cat a week or so ago, they went out every night for 5 nights, finally on the 5th night, they heard it's meow, it was trapped in a neighbor's shed. Another was hiding in a tree from the neighbor's dogs. Check buildings, bushes, trees, and storm drains around your house. Also in the house/garage, keep all doors/closets OPEN in case it's hiding in the house. If you can, leave door cracked open from which cat would most likely sneak back in during the night. If desperate, sprinkle your urine near the cracked door as stronger scent guidance. Worked for us!

Cats dont wander far but they hide, get disoriented and dont respond to calls. place fliers on porches up and down block. talk to neighbors. post signs. I found my cat after 6 wks bc a neighbor 5 doors away called me when she spotted my cat in her front bushes where I had stood and called my cat dozens of times. The neighbor had kept the flier. Call for them when it's quiet.
