Unregistered does NOT mean UNTRACEABLE. Did they give you the chip number? You can call the chip company and ask: Who purchased the chip? It's usually a vet, shelter, rescue... They usually keep records as to adopted the pet, or who they inserted the chip for.... Hopefully, Teri Hill Goodnight (on Facebook) is available, but you can try this for yourself.... She's amazing at digging for information and reuniting pets with their people. Thank YOU for your compassion!

Free at any vet or Petsmart store to check for a microchip.
