His name is Boo Boo. He can say it, and some other words. Likes bananas. I can’t possibly say how heartbroken we are. We are hoping for a miracle.

Keep looking I know two people who had their birds get out and both of them were found FAR from home! One got lost in Glendale and was found in Korea Town. Then it landed on a person in Glendale and that person took it home to Korea Town. The other was lost in Alhambra and wound up in the San Fernando Valley. I myself have had birds get out and I found them. One was located a maybe two hundred yards away on the next street. She had come down on a small tree and people found her and her in a cage. I found her after I think two days of searching and I rewarded those people with $500.00 dollars to return her to me. I don't know when your bird got out and if it is used to flying or not. If it is not used to flying, then it will not travel far at first... ...its wing muscles will be weak and it will come down. You have to get fliers out and get out and talk to people! You have to get out in the early morning before the sun rises and start walking and calling and listening for your birds replies in return. In the morning the ambient noise is not much and this is when birds forage a lot. Get going and never give up! I call like an idiot, I don't care what some human thinks of me... ...if I look like an idiot I don't care... ...I only care to get my bird back!

Flocks and flocks of them. So many that the powers that be invested ways to remove them but found they are endangered in their native home due to habitat loss. The SGV flocks might save the species.

Los Angeles is home to numerous thriving wild parrot flocks—often called "pandemonium"—comprising at least 11 species, including Rose-ringed (Indian Ringneck) Parakeets and Blue-crowned Parakeets. These non-native birds are commonly spotted in Pasadena, Arcadia, Santa Monica, and Venice, particularly at sunrise and sunset.

I’m sure he’s healthy and happy, and has joined a flock of same and similar species. LA has abundant food, water and shelter plus a temperature range they can easily survive. In 1974, I lost my orange-winged Amazon parrot in Santa Monica. Three days later, after a man saw my flyer and called me, I recovered him off Pico near Sepulveda where he was tearing up an old lady’s prize rose bushes. He had put on weight, was super muscular, and his feet and entire front were stained dark purplish-blue from some sort of berries. He didn’t want to be captured because he was living his best and freest life. Don’t believe naysayers. Parrot flocks are thriving in San Francisco and even in Minneapolis. Be sad for yourselves, but not for him!

Check Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue. They're up North, I think; they have some ringneck and yours may have flown that far.
