URGENT: Requesting Help Finding Missing Black Cat "Blaxamilia" (Staten Island / Police Hand-off) Hi, I am desperately trying to locate our black female cat, Blaxamilia, who was transferred to a private rescue group from the NYPD 120th Precinct in St. George Staten Island, on Monday morning, August 10th. We are absolutely grief-stricken. Blaxamilia is a special-needs rescue who suffered severe trauma before we saved her. She was abandoned and left to starve in a vacant apmt on 12/26/26 for months, until April, we were able to feed her through a crack in the window and slipped our hands inside just to offer her comfort before finally bringing her to safety in our home when she was placed outside in on April 8th. 2026, once the abandoned unit was cleared out. She formed an unbreakable bond with my special-needs daughter and is normally a sweet, incredibly loving lap cat. This cat is amazing, smart, clingy and very loving. On Saturday night, my children were play-fighting in our Stapleton apmt. My son tackled my daughter, which triggered a severe episode of blind, panicked redirected aggression in Blaxamilia. She went into full survival mode. It became a severe medical crisis resulting in multiple injuries, and EMS had to transport both children to the hosp. (The kids are now safe, recovering, and on rabies protocol due to the severity of the incident both kids had 42 bites between them with severe torn skin from scratches). Because of the crisis on scene, officers took physical custody of Blaxamilia. I have since spoken directly to the officers on duty that day. They assumed we didn’t want her, noting how sweet she was and how she cried whenever anyone left the room. Wanting to protect her life, they bypassed the standard city shelter system entirely and safely handed her off on Monday to a trusted, private animal rescue network that they work with frequently. Because this was handled INFORMALLY to SAVE her life, there is no official log at the precinct, the ACC, or the ASPCA. The officers cannot give me the name directly of who took her, but they assured me she went with an amazing, high-quality group. Blaxamilia’s Description: Color: Solid black with a white small tiny patch on her chest. She is a female Distinguishing Mark: A very clear, small scar across the bridge of her nose. Behavior: Severe anxiety, tail whipping when overstimulated, highly sensitive to sound, and terrified of being alone. She does not like other animals. Prefers wet food doesn’t like pate or appreciate kibble. If she cannot return to us, she must be in a quiet home with no other pets or kids. We love her deeply and are entirely heartbroken. I am not trying to interfere with her placement or cause trouble for anyone; I desperately just want to know she is SAFE, ALIVE, and would like to share her full medical history and behavioral triggers with whoever has her! so she can be cared for properly. Please!! If your organization picked up a black female cat from the 120th Precinct on Monday, August 10th, or if she was placed into your volunteer foster network, please contact me immediately. We need to know she is okay. Please we are worried sick and in grief over the poor girl. We want the best for her, we only need to know she is well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Felicia📞 The officers said they handed her off but did they really? Or did they release her into the woods? There are no records of her in the ACC or ASPCA. I have called every animal hosp. There is no records of her in the reports and the kids left in an ambulance. Was the lack of mentioning her to save her life or not do paperwork? She is loved valued and respected. She has family and we need a resolve for the sake of peace.

people don't like cats who attack children and those persons will never have the civility, sophistication, understanding and open mind needed to be patient with your cat here. it could be the police brought her to animal care and control of your borough. a.c.c. it could be her though innocent, anti social mood or hostility out of confusion and broken heart was a turn-off. with that, she may have been put to sleep. i say this because a.c.c. is a public, low budget shelter and they will not go on and on for days with her in a cage because they will imagine she prevents a nicer, gentler cat from opportunity to be housed at their shelter and therefore that 'nicer' cat needs a place still waiting out on the street. low budget and not adequate space equals they do alot of euthanasia and are criticized for that. i'm not trying to scare you, that's just what's done.

This is so sad! Usually they just hand them off to Animal control because that’s what they are supposed to do legally.. so I would start there…. did she actually have Rabies? Because that wouldn’t be good for survival at the shelter. Would you be willing to take her back if by chance a rescue does have her. Because usually they do not have communication with former owners regarding surrendered cats. But hopefully she did make it to a rescue and they see this! I would be heartbroken too! Hope the kids are ok
