Message from Owner

Our cat, Kenobi, went missing about 24 hours ago. We’ve covered our neighborhood and surrounding area numerous times and have still come up short. He was last seen near Meadow Lane Elementary - we believe he climbed out of a window and couldn’t get back in the hse. This was around 7-8 pm on Thursday, October 15. Please reach out with any information and if possible, keep an eye out for our boy. Thank you!

If Kenobi is normally an INSIDE cat… then he is definitely scared and hiding and you will need to go out at NIGHT with a flashlight and look for his “glowing” eyes. He is VERY CLOSE to your house… most likely in YOUR OWN YARD. They usually find a hiding spot very quickly and very close to where they escaped. Look up in the trees and CHECK UNDER EVERYTHING in YOUR YARD first… under decks, under sheds, inside bushes, wood piles and storm drains. Then check your neighbors yards. They are very good at hiding. THE BEST TIME TO FIND HIM IS AT NIGHT WITH A FLASHLIGHT AND HIS EYES WILL “GLOW” BACK AT YOU. Kenobi is so scared, he will NOT respond to you calling him, so you'll have to use your eyes instead of your ears to find him. When cats are suddenly outside, they go into "survival mode" and their entire personality changes. They will NOT wander. They find a hiding spot very close by and are very scared and will not come out for anyone... even their owners. I hope you find your fur-baby very soon!

Brooke Lanoue kk the night time lighting on my camera was misleading me to think the orange neighbor cat was a gray cat 😅 and I wasn't awake enough to logic it 😂

Open and lock your garage door at 6 inches. Put his litter box just inside. Call him as soon as it starts getting dark in the traffic has down. Also put flyers on everybody’s front door for about a two block area. A lot of people won’t read what they perceive to be garage sale signs, but they will look at that paper on their front door. Also take his picture to the Lees Summit Animal Control that they pick him up. They will mention it to you.
