Act Fast to Locate Your Dog! Don't wait thinking your dog will simply come back. Every day counts! Shelters and ACS are being forced to adopt out pets after the 3-5 day waiting period. Post on as many sites as possible. If multiple dogs, post together and separately. Keep record of your posts and respond to everyone so they contine to help. Nextdoor - ask a neighbor to post if not registered Pawboost - most widely used site Lostmydoggie Humane Society locations Craigslist Petco Love Lost FidoFinder Lost Dogs of Texas Let Local shelters and ACS know your dog is missing. ***Visit/View online shelters and Animal Care Services (ACS) daily for your dog - and not just the shelter near you. Large dogs can travel many miles each day. Ask about found injured pets since they may be at a vet or another area. IMPORTANT! Visit the Facebook San Antonio Urgents and Adoptables site often. These are the dogs at most risk of being euthanized. Visit Bexar County Animal Care and their site Since lost pets become adoptable after just a few days, view the various sites: 24petconnect - many shelters list dogs here Adoptapet Petfinder - many shelters list dogs here Petsalive Popular Rescues to check Godsdogsrescue ADLtexas Charmingpetrescue ARF-Texas Adoggie4you Put up signs . . . Put in car windows, vets, groomers, pet stores, etc. Update microchip ASAP! Post Pics that show body markings so others can match to found dogs. List lost location and zip code up in post Monitor all of your posts. Do not rely on someone calling or messaging you. Put a cell number but be very careful of scammers. Never send money or a code to someone that says they have your dog. Follow other lost dog posts that look similar to your dog...greatly improves the chances of finding your baby.
