Shared. . If you have not already done all these things, do them NOW. If you have do them again and go further in your search. Advise Toronto Animal Services and check their website for found cats. Also notify nearby vet offices, rescues, shelters (e.g. SPCA/Humane Society) and the microchip company if he's chipped. Note that intact male cats can travel long distances in search females in heat and have trouble finding their way home. Alert local feral cat feeders who may spot him searching for food. Cats will usually stay in hidden places near the door they left for 2-3 days before wandering or food and may keep coming nearby. Put his used litter and some food and water in hidden places near the door he left now and check late this evening and in the morning if the food it still there. Check all nearby dark, shaded areas under bushes, shrubs and trees and places where he can shelter if injured or scared. Check under decks, in window wells and dark corners of porches, yards, garages, sheds and stairwells where he could be hiding or might be trapped. Thump the hoods and fenders of nearby parked cars in case he hides in a wheel well or engine compartment. Ask nearby (5 -10 block radius) neighbours to do the same and to check their porches, garages, sheds and yards where he could hide or may be trapped. See Pawboost and check their website for found cats and for search and find suggestions as well as sample posters. Post notices in a 5-10 block radius, include outbuildings and construction sites. Put a notice in nearby (5-10 block) neighbours' mailboxes. Post on FB lost and found dogs and cats site and on community, church and local store notice boards. Go out AFTER dark and bring food and treats, walk around a 5-10 block area, stop periodically, semi hide and put the food beside you not in your hand and softly call. Listen carefully but do NOT make any loud noises. Lost cats are terrified and do not recognize their owners as safe.

A good list of things to do is on the Toronto Humane Society website, as well as www.catsinthebag.org Also get signs up and file a lost report with Toronto Animal Services/local shelters, and keep checking their listings. Make sure your microchip is registered, and the company has your up to date info. Put up posters, put use litter outside so she/he can pick up on their scent. notified vets, shelters, and recuses. Also notified chipped company if your cat is chipped. Check 1-2 blocks each way calling the cats name. .Check close to home like tree's, brushes, and any holes he may fine to hide. Ask neighbors to check their backyards and sheds. Go out late at night when everything is quite calling the cats name while carry a treat like tuna, make sure you stop to listen. Check under cars etc... Do you know if their is a cat colony someone in your area bc you could check with them to see if your baby is there too GL...Also beware of scammers-don't give money and ask them to sent picture

Elsie George Maclaren I hope so too! He’s an indoor cat. He unfortunately escaped by ripping through the mesh in the window, something he has never done before.

Go out around 2AM with smelly food or treats and call softly for him. Have neighbors check sheds and garages. Post lots of signs. Also a good idea to stick notes through your neighbour’s door or mailbox for them to check their properties.
