Message from Owner

Choose is the friendliest little guy you'll ever meet. Someone may have thought he was a stay because he had no collar, but he isn't. Any info welcome. Thank you so much.

Attached is Information to help you find your lost cat. https://www.vokra.ca/lost-cat Start the calling method as soon as you realize your cat is missing. Call from where your cat went missing. Call itโ€™s name repeatedly for 10 mins. Repeat that every 30 mins while shaking treats and listening to hear if it responds by calling back. Keep your voice calm and encouraging. Consistency is key. This enables the cat to pick up the direction of your voice and and eventually your home. Your cat will likely be very scared, cold and hungry and very close by. Use a flashlight when searching at night when it is quieter as their eyes reflect the light when they are hidden in shrubs etc. For indoor and indoor/outdoor cats Many indoor cats return when its quiet and dark usually 10pm-6:30am so if possible leave your door/window open slightly for it to return. This method works well for indoor cats that escape. Put out some of your smelliest worn clothing (runners, sweaty shirts and socks) with your scent on and keep calling for it frequently as it will hear your voice. Replace clothing each day so that the strong scent is maintained. It may take a few days or so for it to get the confidence to return but the main thing is that it needs a way inside when itโ€™s quiet. Secure any other pets in a room so they can't also escape. DO NOT place a cat litter tray out as this may attract other cats, especially Tom cats and predators which will frighten your cat away. Search your yard and your neighbors yards/patios/garage/sheds/bushes thoroughly. http://www.catsinthebag.org/

Keep trying the things listed... All the best in your beautiful cat's return,~๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ If possible consider building a Catio - so much safer for kitties who like the sights/smells of outdoors. https://spca.bc.ca/news/how-to-build-a-catio/ **Cats that get outside, they tend to panic & hide, usually close to home. When it's dark out, go outside with a flashlight & look under every bush, under vehicles anything the cat can get to around the home. Eyes will light up with the beam of the flashlight. Let neighbors know, they sometimes will get locked in an open shed. Put posters up. Leave out some bedding/clothing of hers & yours, but NOT the litter box. Going out with a bag of treats calling her name. IF at all possible to leave a window or door open, when quiet many have come back. Continue looking & calling. The cat is scared & hiding. REPEAT! All the very best...
