Charlie is Missing in Mitchell, IN

I’m making this post on behalf of my mother-in-law and Father-in-law. Their orange cat Charlie is still missing after being gone a month. I have posted in both the Mitchell and surrounding counties Facebook groups and also in the Indiana lost pets network, but haven’t had any luck so far, so I figured I would also post here as well. Charlie is a very friendly kitty and would go up to anyone. He is about a year old. An important thing to note is that he has Feline Leukemia. Because of this, he had been living out in my in laws’ garage where he had his own little hse and food and water. Charlie loved his home and never ventured far, so it was concerning when he never returned home. My mother-in-law believes if Charlie was outside that he’d have come home by now. So we think its more likely he may have been picked up by mistake and taken in by someone or something bad may have happened to him. Charlie does cough a little, so if he were taken in by someone, they’d had to have discovered he was sick. My in laws have checked with the humane society and so far they haven’t had any cats come in that fit his description, nor has anyone called or reported any lost pets that fit his description. They also checked with neighbors, but nobody saw him. Unfortunately, Charlie was not wearing a collar and wasn’t microchipped. My mother-in law also posted on the ring camera app and so far hasn’t had any luck. My husband and I live in Bloomington, so we have been doing what we are able to from afar. If we do come visit, we have tried looking ourselves around the neighborhood, but haven’t had any luck. I have been looking through all of the local missing pet groups and seeing if anyone has posted him, but I haven’t seen anyone post about him. I know that Mitchell, IN is a small town, but someone has to have seen him. Please reach out if you have any information on him or think you may know someone who could have taken him in by mistake.
