🐱💜Dear kind compassionate neighbor. I ADORE people like you who look out for the often ignored lost/stray roaming kitty. Thank you for helping to save this kitty’s life! ((Cats that haven’t eaten for days and barely eaten for weeks will still ‘APPEAR’ OK - fur is very deceiving and it takes a long time for cats to look malnourished.)) I pray you will provide AND continue to provide Wet food and water. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.🐱💜We are often a cat’s last hope after another human failed them. ((place wet food in a bowl - then place that bowl inside larger bowl or on a plate and add water to the outer bowl/pate - in order to prevent ANTS from crossing over and swarming the food)) 🐱 Lost cats REMAIN very near their last residence …Unfortunately many kitty guardians give up WAY TOO SOON on the search assuming kitty is never coming back or deceased (not realizing how close they remain and/or sometimes they're trapped in a garage etc) Kitty could belong to an elderly person who lives alone and doesn't use the internet or know how to find kitty (or can't physically get around well). Or kitty's guardian could have or was hospitalized. And sadly, MANY cats are born in backyards due to guardians who aren’t fixing their own cats that they allow outside. AND MANY sweet cats get ABANDONED (yes happens all the time)….and they need our help 🙏 🐱 MOST (if not all) of the neighbors that live on your block - will NOT see any of these posts on pawboost, nextdoor or facebook. So Informing your neighbors in person is KEY. The neighbors around your block and across the street are exactly who need to be informed via FLYERS and/or knocking on doors and asking. THE BEST THING TO DO To find out if kitty has a guardian: Get kitty into your bathroom where it's safe and contained and Knock on your neighbors doors..someone might know where kitty lives .. Food bowl water bowl, litter box and blanket or ideally a covered carrier can be used as a little hideaway for kitty - or even a cardboard box turned to it’s side and partially covered and blanket/towel inside :) 🐱💜 SCAN KITTY FOR MICROCHIP: Try winning kitty’s trust with food and pets and gently Get kitty safely inside a SECURE cat carrier and get kitty scanned for a microchip at any vet (Free) or shelter (Free) hopefully kitty has a microchip with guardian’s up to date contact information. TIP: Always Cover the cat carrier with a blanket once kitty is inside and during travel it will help calm them. 📌 HOW TO GET A CAT INSIDE A CARRIER (Butt-first) 🐱https://youtu.be/7hk-Mq9nw6U (I made this video to show you how) Place hard open carrier behind the kitty and give kitty treats or food in front of kitty ,gently pull kitty’s shoulders and body BACK toward the opening…very gently! Kitty will pause then walk backwards into the carrier! 👏🏼 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1l5eJVen9SC9Zm7D3LCr-CZlsmAnl0_cL/view?usp=sharing SEE IMAGE BELOW …. If no microchip … please bring kitty inside (where it is safe from coyotes into a bathroom or bedroom or closet or inside an extra large playpen: https://a.co/d/7EUE4E2 ) and print FLYERS… 🐱💜PRINT “FOUND- IS THIS YOUR CAT” FLYERS (Download Template/s below) Post up Flyers around your block on both sides of every lamppost - and distribute flyers door to door around the block and across the street to all your neighbors . KNOCK ON DOORS and ask if anyone knows where this sweet kitty lives... leave a note or FLYER or MINI-FLYER if not home ( use that blue painters tape to adhere directly to front doors or mailboxes so they are noticed. (don’t place mini flyers inside mailboxes they will get lost) You want to cover ALL possibilities. Spreading the word IN PERSON and online/ 💜💜💜 💜💜💜 Of 4 cats I helped recently , 2 were microchipped (chip company reached out to the guardian while I kept the cat in my bathroom and 1 cat was NOT chipped so I printed mini flyers and full page flyers. I used painters tape to tape MINI flyers to every resident’s front door around the entire block (kitty was in the backyard) and posted up flyers on lampposts and within 24 hours the guardian called! Not all cats have this happy ending but gosh it's the best feeling to help reunited a kitty with their guardian - thank you for helping ‘found’ cats get home. And if kitty is homeless, prayfully you might foster the cat until you can find a loving home… When they ‘show up’ in our lives it usually means they need help. I recently took home a cat seen in a neighbor’s backyard - she noticed a limp but thought kitty was fine. I cared for ‘Rain’ for 3 nights - he was in such bad shape but it wasn’t obvious from just looking at kitty going to the food bowl - he had been hurt by a human and had face trauma and brain damage…I was able to get him to the vet and have him assessed and get him strong pain and kept him warm and well fed in my bathroom - where it’s safe even for a sick cat with parasites ( administered to any and all parasites like fleas) He passed away on the 3rd morning. He had been ignored outside in people’s backyards for weeks..I’m so blessed to have been able to care for him for those 3 nights - he knew he was being LOVED for the first time in a long time …he did not die alone and I made sure he was medicated so he didn’t feel pain. 💜💜💜 💜💜💜 → FOUND (SHY) CAT FLYER - TEMPLATE https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Lgfdj7rfRvZa5NhiNvMCxbu_wnKPs73Z/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=102845077284118854428&rtpof=true&sd=true → FOUND CAT (Friendly) FLYER - TEMPLATE https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ohg8MW56MKlrZbBsddIW75Vl6QICG93f/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=102845077284118854428&rtpof=true&sd=true → 4 on 1 page MINI FLYER TEMPLATE: (take screenshot of your FLYER then copy/ paste 4 times on this template https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1mR5eYg5USYGD9VoPMSu6vkLbWnhbbBfv/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=102845077284118854428&rtpof=true&sd=true → 5 on 1 page MINI FLYER TEMPLATE: I use painter’s tape to tape these directly onto front doors (or on the outside of mailboxes if no access to front doors..though I ring doorbells of buildings to gain access!) https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1aph-oFF28d_G4StFCTHa5SAaGbLVIEpb/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=102845077284118854428&rtpof=true&sd=true 🐱💜 PLACE FLYERS you post-up on both side of each lamp post inside a ‘clear sheet protector’ with the opening facing down’ so the FLYER doesn’t get ruined by weather (google clear sheet protectors - they sell at staples, target, fedex print stores and overnight on amazon) Use ALOT of Clear packing tape to post FLYERS on lampposts. You can buy packing and painters tape (for taping onto the front doors of each residence) . https://drive.google.com/file/d/10I_aHnjJ9rX6rYbGi6v7AWUTJVqggIxD/view?usp=sharing You can get FLYERS printed at your local FEDEX print store via online for pick up- cheaper than most. 🐱 If Kitty is friendly and coming daily and appears healthy, please consider adding a ‘paper collar’ around kitty’s neck - asking ‘if this kitty has a guardian with indoor/outdoor access’’ with your phone number & wait a day to see if anyone calls to confirm: PAPER COLLAR: www.llbrhs.com/uploads/9/4/8/1/94815396/paper-collar-template.pdf ONLINE: (don’t rely on this alone) 🐱 Post on Nextdoor.com in your neighborhood .
