Go to every animal shelter with a photo of him and your contact info asap! If he is chipped you will likely be contacted but if not he would be a stray on a 72 hour hold. Post signs with his picture outside your house AND on your car and be sure to say, “Do not chase! Call or text immediately if you see him!!” Post signs within a 2 mile radius and also (if your supermarket and coffee shops allow it) put signs up on their bulletin boards. Check with neighbors to see if they have seen him. If you are walking around looking for him be sure to have a collar AND (more importantly) a leash and some treats. If you see him DON’T walk or run to him, instead sit on the ground or crouch down so he doesn’t run. Take a bottle of water to pour on his head and to give him a drink because he’s likely to be dehydrated with this hot weather. Connect with your animal control and police to see if anyone has reported seeing him running around. It is likely that he will seek shade and be on someone’s porch or behind shrubs so look carefully and call, call, CALL for him. Sending you and him positive energy for a speedy reunion.
