Search at night with a flashlight (eyes will glow) up in trees and inside and under things on your property and up to three or four houses away. Cats normally stay pretty close to home. You can put something with the smell of the cat, or the scent of home, out on the porch. Put up missing cat posters, check with your neighbors, post on all local social media groups, and check with animal control every week. Leave your garage door up enough to allow the cat entry. You can also try searching early morning, before dawn, calling his/her name and carrying and open can of tuna or cat food. Hunger sometimes lures them out of hiding. Don't forget to check places like crawl spaces, garages, and sheds.

Immediately (NOW)walk area shake treat bag or Bang on cat food can calling for your cat multiple times during the day-and-night especially when it's quiet out. Look under all bushes and in between houses. Put flyers on your neighbors doors ask them to check garage, shed backyard. Post on nextdoor, get family & friends to search every day. Search at midnight-5am too call for ur kitten, listen for her meow

Call softly late night early morning when it quite out .. if there is any way you could leave your door slightly open and call after dark .. have a spot light to shine to see eyes in the dark .. they are usually close by and will often come back to the door .. or hide under bushes or decks to feel safe ! Also check crawl spaces under houses , garages, sheds of neighbors nearby ... check culvert pipes .. storm drains .. up trees .. and under car hoods and tires also ...this can happen and they could be miles from home . A set trap may be needed and monitored ! Trail cam help to monitor the areas ! Post to Nextdoor ... Check with area Shelters, Animal Control , and Vets offices also put flyers ... Am sure you have tried most all of these ! Don't give up !!

Cats are most active between midnight and 6:00 a.m. but anytime after dark is a good time to begin your search. Indoor only kitty’s (if they do get outside) are often still on the property just spooked and hiding. Using a bright flashlight, look for “eyes glowing” under and inside of any outbuildings on your property and surrounding properties as well. Look under your home’s crawlspace, porches, decks, bushes, trees and nearby woods. Shine the light up into trees and if he’s in a tree, stream mackerel juice from that tree to owners porch where you want him to show up. Call kitty’s name (softly) listening for a response and if he’s in gets treats, shake a treat bag while calling his name or tap a s on the side of a pet food can if that’s a sound familiar to him. Leave a dirty clothing item of owners outside on your porch for scent purposes along with water. Take the food indoors at bedtime as it can draw up unwanted night predators. If all else fails, buy or borrow a pet safe humane kitty trap and try trapping him. To bait a kitty trap, place a dirty clothing item of owners inside of the trap along with water and tuna or sardines. (tuna in water is stronger than tuna in oil. Note: COVER the trap with a tarp or dark colored towels to keep it dark inside or kitty will not enter; only leave entrance open. *Note: If you do trap kitty, DO NOT open the trap outdoors or kitty might bolt. Carry your trapped kitty indoors inside of the trap and release him in the safety of your home. *Whenever baiting a humane kitty trap, DO NOT leave any extra food outside on your porch so that kitty will enter the trap for that food. *Note: NEVER set a pet safe kitty trap during subfreezing temperatures. Place a night camera on your yard to see if kitty is showing up after dark. Put up flyers on your street, surrounding streets, intersections, and one in owners front yard. Place the flyers in clear plastic sleeves and attach them to brightly colored pieces of poster board. Check with neighbors close by and the (animal shelter daily). Sharing and praying you find him safe and soon.
