Search indoors too, in case the cat is stuck somewhere inside. - Spread the Word: Put up flyers and post on lost and found online sites like Multnomah County Animal Services (I see you listed him there) and PawBoost. Also, keep checking the found cat listings on these websites. See if anyone in the area has a Ring camera - this may show the cat’s movement. Ask if they will continue to watch their Ring camera for your cat. - Ask local delivery services (ex., postal, FedEx, UPS) to keep an eye out. The website https://lostmykitty.com (https://lostmykitty.com/)/ will send notices to multiple area veterinary clinics. - Microchip: If the cat is microchipped, update their status to "lost" with the provider. - Trapping: If the cat is indoor-only or in an unfamiliar area or is potentially injured, they may be hiding and require a humane trap. The Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon (feralcats.com) provides trapping instructions in their resources section. Animal Aid loans traps for a refundable deposit. For the cat’s safety, always monitor the trap anytime it is activated, don’t leave it unattended or overnight. Also, PDX Cat Trapper and SOS Lost Pet Rescue NW are two groups that help outdoor cats — they have their own websites and are both on Facebook. I hope you get your kitty back soon.

Go to the shelters to see if your dog/cat is there, if not Get your flyers up! Do not rely on social media alone, most of my missing animals come home, because of physical flyers! I do 8X11 in the immediate area 4 per block, the bigger the area 3 per block and so on. I've had the most success with the 4 per page mini handouts of the same flyer. I will give these to the Mailman, UPS, Fedex, Garbage man, Gas stations, Grocery stores. Also fluorescent backgrounds at major intersections 8X11 or bigger. Also law enforcement and animal control. More than likely, it's not going to be your eyeballs.That bring your pet home.Also not everybody has social media. So we need as much help as we can get from the community. So make it easy for them to get a hold of you. and remember the harder you work, the luckier you get! I hope these suggestions help you get your animal home soon and safe. 🙏

General Information: Set up a scent station. Hang clothes with your scent on it (Worn clothing from owner) high up outside so the familiar scent can travel and guide the cat back home. NO LITTER BOX OR FOOD. Ask your neighbors to check their yard/could be accidently stuck in their garage or shed. (If applicable) Check doorbell or home camera - or ask neighbors to check their camera. Post Fliers with a picture of the cat and your contact information in the area the cat went missing. Not everyone is on Social Media and posters have worked in that if spotted a location can be provided. If a cat is scared they make themselves safe by finding a good hiding spot and often times hide in silence. Look in bushes - bring a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Best time to find your cat is in the early morning hours when the noise level is low and they feel safe. Leave an access point open for the cat to return. This is important if they do come back in the middle of the night. Prayers your cat returns/ or is found safely. Beware of scammers.
