Message from Owner

Mao mao is used to being out at night and visits my cat every evening around 7 P.m. He has been seen heading to Sawmill Valley creek at times. He is very loud in his meows. I have rarely seen him running. Often seen lying in the sun. He is owned by a neighbour.

Janice Cox yes he is out there getting cats pregnant. They may not speak English but having a cat neutered and kept indoors is better for the cat. Please ask them to neuter their pet. Maybe they would like to help a rescue when all the kitties he has fathered are born. It costs a lot of money to rescue them and sometimes even heartbreaking to see what happens when a five month old kitten gives birth to 6 or more kittens. 🙀🙀😥😢

Give all details of your cat to the local postal sorting office and also to your own postman/postwoman. Posties are great as they go everywhere and see all. Good luck 🐈‍⬛

Oh my.......cats can run into so many issues when they roam. There are cars, coyotes, FIV, territorial fighting, people with bad intensions, intestinal worms, ear mites and so much more. Now we face the issue that he is not fixed. There are so many kittens being born because of the uneducated or poor responsibilities of people. It's not fair that they suffer being born to the streets because of them. NOW.....let’s find him. He will be very nervous and likely hiding not far from your home. When you’re out searching this evening take a flashlight with you. The light will shine off his eyes and makes it easier to locate him. Look under every veranda and bush and any tiny place he may be hiding. Ask your neighbours to search their garage and under their porch or perhaps they will allow you to. He may have also climbed up a tree, so look there as well. Take a bag of treats and shake them while calmly calling his name. Put up posters and contact shelters in your area every 3 days to see if he has been turned in. If you haven’t yet gotten him micro chipped, please do, so should this happen again he can be returned to you. GOOD LUCK ❤

Believe me I am aware of the need for neutering and not letting Mao mao out but I believe these neighbours are new to Canada as they do not speak much English, thus my posting instead of theirs. Wondering if anyone knows how far a male cat would wander to meet a female in heat. Maybe this is why he has left?

Check the Mississauga Animal Services website- found pets section, in case he’s found and turned in to their shelter. Put up posters all over the neighbourhood. Go out and walk the area at night while calling for him and shaking a bag of treats. They can hear you better at night and usually aren’t too far from home. Good luck!

Please place his bedding 🛏outside, along with the owner's unwashed clothing👚👖 front and back door 🚪with a can of tuna 🐟 on each entrance, you can leave your garage door a bit open as well. In case it comes in that way. And leaving food there as well. Also vacuumed home 🧹dirt in a stocking hanging it in front and back of home🏡 enterence . You can also add some catnip 🌱in a stocking hanging by your entrances. Show your neighbo🖼picture of the cat. Ten houses to the left ten house to the right front and back if they spot him to give you a call☎️ immediately. Go early in the ☀️morning and shake treats calling the cats name when things are quiet.. Tell neighbors to check their sheds and garage.Just in case it's trapped.. Also, you can install a camera 📹to monitor and see if the cat is around your house . Best of luck 🍀finding your kitty 🙏 ❤️🏡🐾

A good list of things to do is on the Toronto Humane Society website, as well as (Click on the link www.catsinthebag.org itself.) Get signs up (not everyone uses fb, and the more eyes looking the better) and file a lost report with Animal Services and local shelters (and keep checking their listings). Make sure your microchip is registered, and your info is up to date with the company too. And here is some helpful info: https://www.missinganimalresponse.com/lost-cat-behavior/ Post on Neighbourhood/community groups, and be sure to also do a post on the fb group ‘Toronto Lost and Found Cats’

Cat roaming outdoors and not neutered!! If it comes home, please educate your neighbours. It is against the law for cats to be outdoors roaming and they need to fix their cat. That is why it has loud cries and wanders far…. he is looking for a female to mate with. 😾
