Cats generally do not go very far but can hide so well. If he’s an inside cat only he’s probably very scared. They will usually stay within 1-3 houses from where they are lost. They don’t just roam like a dog will. Look under houses and sheds, in garages, in bushes, up in trees (yes in trees). At night take a flashlight and shine it in all those places again while calling his name. Look for GLOWING EYES. This is important Go look at different times of the day and night. Walk and shine that light Don’t just drive around. They hide. They’re scared. Keep calling for him. He may come out at nite when it is quieter. Place some of your worn clothing and his bed and blanket on the porches. Cats have a great sense of smell. Be sure and check periodically to see if he’s out there. Keep calling him. Put trail cameras up outside and see if you see him coming around. Put signs up everywhere. On car windows, doors, poles. Ask your neighbors if you can check their yards and garages and sheds to make sure he’s not trapped in one. Keep calling his name. Ask your postman to keep an eye out for him. Post on local Facebook lost pet sites in your area. Take flyer with his picture to your local animal control in case someone brings him in. Check in person to make sure he’s not there. Take signs to local vet offices and post for lost cat. Keep calling for him every chance you get. You may want to get a Have a Heart trap and bait with something smelly like tuna. Keep calling his name. He’s close by. Ask your neighbors if they’ve taken him in thinking he was a stray. My cat Ziggy was missing for 3 weeks. I found him by using the flashlight at nite and saw his glowing eyes thru slats of a fence. I would shine that light everywhere like I was the cops searching for an escaped prisoner. And I kept calling him. I found him in the garage NEXT DOOR where I had already looked but they can hide so good. Keep looking. Don’t give up. Keep calling his name. He hears you. He’s close by. Lost cat 2026 —- - If kitty is an indoor cat it will typically stay in a 3 to 7 house radius of her home. - Indoor/outdoor cats can be up to 17 plus days houses away. - Kitty will hide during the day and only come out after dark between dusk and dawn. - Kitty may not come when called. - The majority of cats return home between 2 and 4 AM. - Leave your garage and porch doors open or leave a window open that kitty can climb through. - Make a scent trail in your yard and on your porch with your unwashed laundry and sheets. Hang items over bushes and on your porch railing. Let trail lead to your front door, open garage or open window. - Around 10PM put out rotisserie chicken (warm it so that the smell really carries). - Throughout the night get up and go out side. Walk the 3 to 5 house radius and call softly, listen carefully. - Look both high and low. Kitty could be stuck up in a tree or locked in a neighbor's garage. - A lady reported finding her cat recently. She set her alarm for 2 am, opened her front door, turned on her TV on low, placed an open can of cat food in the house near the door. Kitty came walking into the house. - One man set his alarm and got up every hour and another slept on the couch and heard the cat scratching at the door. - Another tip is to warm chicken stock and makes a trail of it from the street or yard up to the house. Even pour it in the bushes and trees where the wind could carry the smell. - Other people have used catnip to help lure their cat home. - Use a flashlight to look for your cat’s eyes at night. - You will lose sleep, but this has worked Good luck and don’t give up!

I live nearby, I'll keep an eye out. Did you happen to get him from a Tail of need!? We almost got a Chucky from them but ended up waiting and getting Fireball instead :) I have an orange indoor/ outdoor 😺 here too! Karen and Lori gave the advice I would've.. hope he gets home soon!!

You need to put out kitty‘s favorite toy, bedding, litter box, even if its cleaned out all, preferably in a fenced in yard or in the garage with the door just enough for kitty just slip in. I would also put something of the owners like a used pillowcase or some old shoes, he smell his way back. My boy was gone three days. He was neutered, but he brought a pregnant female home with him.
