For Luna’s people: You have likely done this already but if not, please post flyers in the area where Luna went missing (and/or last sighted), and knock on doors. Not everyone is on social media. You might also ask folks to check their security monitors... Might capture something useful in the footage. Also remember to check the Pawboost FOUND and SIGHTINGS listings, and with local animal shelters. And phone to ask their current protocols. I have heard that visiting in person to review their intake logs is the best way to get accurate information. Also consider posting on NextDoor. I hope to read a positive update on Luna soon.

Post to Nextdoor Check shelter website 24petconnect .com City of San Jose Animal Care & Services AND County of Santa Clara Animal Services in San Martin Help your pet smell their way home ~ take an unwashed article of the OWNER’S clothing (socks, sheet, underwear) and hang it in a tree, on a fence, a pole or edge of roof and put an article of unwashed clothing on the ground below. The wind will carry the scent. If there is another dog in the home take that dog's fresh poop and rub it on a rag and hang it high. Open your gates and/or the garage door, and turn on all the lights. Put a rug or towel on the porch with a bowl of water. Do not put the dog's bed or the dog's toys outside. The only scent we want is from the owners. Please do this ASAP. A dog can find its way back from miles by following a scent as they don't operate like humans on sight or sound. Put up flyers with large photo of your dog with legible phone number.

Shared. Post on Nextdoor as well and check for updates on both websites. Also check the lists of found pups on the websites, she could already be featured on a post on either one. Check the shelters frequently both in person and online. File a missing report while you're there. Not everyone checks social media, post flyers in the area. Include veterinary offices and pet stores when you post the flyers. Contact local rescue groups just in case. Good luck 💖

It has been a few days lost, but place unwashed items of clothing with strong familiar scent outside your door front door area and hanging from a tree dogs can follow the scent from far away, if possible leave the garage door slightly open, no food. If not done report to shelter as lost and check in person, hang flyers all over, ask neighbors to check security cameras footage to see if something useful was caught on video. If chipped call chip company, check with homeless people some like to keep stray dogs, some could help find the pup. Hope he is found safe. You can also do this to spread the word.
