Message from Owner

**UPDATE ON DIDI 💔** It is with an incredibly heavy heart that we share that our beloved DIDI was tragically involved in a car mishap and has past. Our entire family is devastated and heartbroken by this loss. It is still very difficult for us to accept that DIDI is no longer with us. We want to sincerely thank everyone who cared about DIDI, shared his post, kept an eye out for him, reached out to us, and helped us search for him. Every message, every share, and every effort meant so much to our family during this incredibly difficult time. Through this heartbreaking experience, we also want to gently remind every family who loves their cats: whenever possible, please keep them safely indoors. The outside world holds so many dangers that we simply cannot predict or control. Please also make sure your cat wears an identification tag with up-to-date contact information, so that if they ever unexpectedly get outside, they have a better chance of being identified and reunited with you quickly. If sharing DIDI's story can help protect even one more beloved cat and spare another family from experiencing this kind of heartbreak, it would mean something to us. Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts, to every single person who helped us look for DIDI and cared about bringing him home. We hope you and your beloved pets stay safe, healthy, and happy together for many, many years. **Rest in peace, our beloved DIDI. You will always be loved, and you will always be part of our family. 🤍**

Please put some of his used litter in a small container outside on the balcony for him to smell and reorient himself home. If you don’t have any used litter left, please put some of your old used clothing, with your smell on them, or anything of his with his smell on them, outside on the balcony, for the same reason. If there is a window he can jump into, leave that open for him. Check the sheds and garages in the area. Cats generally don’t tend to go too far. When it gets dark outside, go outside on the balcony and shake his favorite box of treats while calling out his name for several minutes. Do this every half hour or so for several hours every evening (and between 2 and 4 a.m.). Do it at the same place every evening so that he can orient himself towards your home. Put out posters with his picture and info around the neighborhood. Call the veterinarians in the area and bring some posters to them. Sometimes people bring strays there to see if they are chipped. Call the city and find out where they bring strays they find. Go in PERSON to the SPCA. Also check on their websites. Calling them IS NOT enough. You have to go in PERSON and often. Check the posts on Pawboost as well. People post animals they have found. Hope this helps. Hope he comes home soon.

Open a Lost Cat Report with the SPCA via spca.com His photo will then be posted on the SPCA site. Save his soiled cat litter box. Sprinkle some of her soiled litter on the side of your stairs, and on the earth of the shrubs that you share with immediate neighbors. You can also put some on aluminum foil sheets , cup them and place in the bushes on your property. Save some soiled litter to repeat this tip should it rain. the familiar scent will attract him. Follow up daily with Proanima as well. If he has a microchip, notify the microchip company.
