I hope you find her soon. Remember there’s a leash law in Marion County. Even if in a fenced in yard, we need to be with our pets outside. Too many pets are going missing.

Help find your dogs Do: Wait patiently at the scene for as long as possible. Stay put so your dog can come back following your scent. “Let the dog come back to you.” When you must go home, take a dirty sock, t-shirt, or underwear that has been close to your skin and place them outside of your home. This is another scent lure. Set up a “meat trap” using odorous meats. This is done based on investigative work. For example, after a neighbor saw your dog running up a hill, the meat and water would be placed at the foot of the hill. Broadcast that your dog is missing using social media, posters, and word of mouth. Ask people to report sightings rather than attempt to retrieve your dog. She will be frightened and run away again. Use sighting reports to use scent based lures like clothing or food. Leave doors open so that your dog has a way to get inside when they return home. Do Not: Leave the scene and start searching for your dog. You are spreading your scent and making it more difficult for your dog to come back to you. Close up your house so your dog has no way of coming inside when they return. Chase your dog or yell their name. This will only drive them furtherTips to find yourTIPS TO FIND YOUR LOST DOG: 🐾 🐾 ■Post to: Indy Lost Pet Alert, Nextdoor, Petfbi, Lost My Doggie & Petalertusa. *** Remember to check these sites daily for "found" pet posts!! ■Scent is critical in finding your dog - remember to freshen up bedding every couple of days. ■One sign can attract 200 👀 a day. Try IndyLostPetAlert.com Pawboost on facebook post on Indy Pets Lost and Found. Be sure to check with animal control, both in that area and the Indpls one because if anyone picked the dog up, they may bring them there. Put large signs at main intersections with a large picture of the dog in center and the words Missing at top and a phone number at bottom. Place the picture in a plastic sleeve to make it waterproof. Signs can be found at hardware stores. Place kibble in small piles in the areas where the dog was last seen and if you can borrow a trailcam then this would be helpful. Replenish the food until you can rule out whether the dog is eating it or not. Do this also in any location where someone sees the dog and calls the number on your sign. The idea is to get the dog to stay in one area and then you could get a rescue such as Peaceful Souls to help. When a dog gets scared they go into survival mode and will run from everyone, even the owner, as they no longer recognize anything. They only are concerned with survival- food, water and safety. Places to look are often near places where water is such as ponds, railroad tracks quiet places such as cemetery etc. Scared dogs often travel at night and sleep in day (but not always) so best time to look is at dusk and dawn. There is a couple of people who actually do dog tracking but you will probably have to get their names from one of Hope you find your fur baby soon. 🐾 🐕 🐕 🐾 🐾 dog
