Shared🙏🙏🙏🙏 This woman has great tips on her site . I used the one below as well as a friend of mine. I have her downloaded book which is a quick read with tons of good info . I will gladly email it to you , pm your email address ( too big of a file for messenger) . She even answered our questions about strays in our area that may hv kept my friend’s cat in hiding . Also if you can rent a trap from St cats in Nay Aug park , Griffin Pond Animal Shelter or No Nonsense Neutering in Plains that will be helpful. Leave the door he escaped from or window cracked open in evening when it gets dark . Buy a cheap driveway sensor from Harbor Freight ($14) place by door and wait . Don’t leave food at all times ( only supervised) or litter outside it will attract other cats or wildlife & drive him further away https://www.lostcatfinder.com/

Try lostmykitty.com they have a service that sends out a lost pet alert to the phones in your area with a description and your phone number asking people to check their basements, garages and sheds. There is a fee, but that’s how I found my cat. If you can print out flyers, give some to the mail carriers and your neighbors and put them on their porches as well as on telephone poles. Also give some to the animal shelters and the veterinarians offices. If there are businesses nearby, ask if you can put a flyer in their window. 💔🙏

Borrow a humane trap. Set it right beside the place that he got out. Put kitties favorite food, treats and sardines in the trap with a trail of juice & sprinkle catnip in the juice, leading out of the trap. Put an article of his favorite human’s unlaundered clothing, over top of the trap. Have his favorite human sit in the spot he got out, at dusk &/or dawn. Talk to him softly like, he was sitting right beside you because, he will not be far away. Gently shake his treat container & take a laser pointer & move it around very slowly so as to peak his curiosity & not scare him away further. Also set trail cams to see if kitty is there. Trap must be monitored at all times. Put up flyers You should also leave a door open at dusk and early morning hours Keep things very quiet Often they'll come back in on their own

Do your part and borrow a trap from your Vet and set it close to where cat got out. Put food in the trap and an unwashed Tshirt of owner for scent. Cover the trap with a towel or cat’s blanket.

🐾if your not sure that he got out , crack a can of catfood and tap it and walk around the house tapping. Some cats have been getting stuck in attics and crawl spaces when people are pulling out decorations- if he did get out Put dirty laundry out, go out shake treats, crack a can of catfood and tap it. Look at night with flashlight because their eyes glow. Check in sheds and under porches, decks ect. Talk to neighbors too, make sure they check their shelters . Might have to set a hav-a heart trap if he's that skittish. Might only come out at night. Sometimes if you leave part of your garage open they will sneak back in. Not sure if that's possible or if you have other animals. I've heard where the cat jumps back in a window. Flyers help too, someone may have taken him in or seen him. Let your post office delivery person know too in case they hear of someone or see him on the local route- check with neighbors, someone may have brought him in. It's a good idea to hang a sign from your mailbox "LOST CaT" in case they are looking for an owner. You can buy a cheap TASCo game camera at Walmart $29 with an SD card and set it up to see if you catch him near by. It surprisingly takes good pictures and is easy to set up- definitely do the dirty laundry and definitely do the tapping of the cat food can. These things really do help🐾🐾🐾don't lose hope. I've had strays remain elusive for over a year before they learn to trust again. They go into survival mode. Be vigilant about flyers, ask neighbors. Sometimes the cat is hanging out at a neighbors close by ***also check with PAW BOOST and Next door and RiNg
