*UPDATE - OCT. 22, 2026: I have captured this cat and am caring for her inside my home. I am working with Community Cats Edmonton as an interim foster while veterinary care, microchip scanning and a more long-term foster can be arranged, if she doesn't have a microchip. ----------------------------------------------------- This stray cat was coming around our yard often since the summer and we had recently noticed she is not well, with mattes and missing hair, as she allowed us to get closer. She is friendly, approaches and meows. Over time, she began rubbing on our legs when food and treats were given, and living in our winter shelter. We were scared to call ACCC for fear of euthanasia, and have involved a charity instead.

Lorrie Paradis I will! She is still decompressing and probably will for the next 5 or so days before I can get close enough to her in the room to scan for a microchip once the scanner is lent to me 💓 I'll text your cell

*OCT. 22 update*: I have captured this cat and she is now being cared for indoors. As she settles in, we are working with Community Cats Edmonton to arrange microchip scanning and vet care. We will be interim fosters until a more long-term foster can be arranged, should she not be chipped or have an owner looking for her.

Lorrie Paradis ask the original poster, Elle Jaybee - it looks like the cat visits her often and you have been communicating with her.

Update: she's rubbing on me in my housecoat and purring! One step closer to getting her into a carrier. Tried twice yesterday but she went halfway in only. Wish me luck guys 💓
