Found this gentle giant on Sunday September 6th in Winter Park. He’s not microchipped and didn’t have a collar. He’s good with kids, I don’t know if he’s good with cats and other dogs.

Here’s some helpful info: 🐾 IF YOU FIND A PET IN FLORIDA follow these legal steps: 1. Check for a microchip 2. Call your county shelter, let them know you found the dog. 3. If the owner can’t be found within a day or two, the pet should go to the shelter. That’s where owners look. If a finder wants to keep a found pet, they can foster at home, which is possible by bringing the pet to the shelter for photos and to be assigned an ID. This gets the pet in the national 24PetConnect database. 4. There’s NO Finder’s Keepers. Found pets in Florida by law cannot be kept or given away. Even if there’s no chip, that doesn’t mean there’s not an owner. You do not know the circumstances. 5.Chipped pets cannot be fostered at home. Bring chipped pets to the shelter. 6. If the finder doesn’t wish to keep the pet, the shelter is where the pet should go. Anyone who wants to adopt the pet is welcome to submit an application. Finders get first dibs on adoption through the shelter with a 5 day stray/hold period at the shelter to allow for an owner to claim their pet.
