Message from Owner

This is a fostered rescue dog that has been severely mistreated and extremely skittish. He has not been handled. He does not bite just flees. Please give a location if he is sighted.

Thank you Diana for your suggestion. We live in a mostly agricultural area of Trussville and where he took off from was a remote woodsy location well off the main road. Neighbors here and local churches are aware he is missing. We keep tabs on each other.

Laura Brinkman I think it’s important to remember that we don’t always know the full story. This dog is extremely fearful and has been through things we can only imagine. Sometimes things happen despite our best efforts. There’s no need to jump to judgment or assume the worst of people who are trying to help. Not every situation is the result of negligence or malicious intent. I’m sure the foster is upset at the situation, and doesn’t need people on the internet to make her feel worse🤍

Laura Brinkman my question on all such posts. For ex., did the dog jump out of car window? Did the little dog open a car door himself? Did the dog drive a car over there by himself? Did he break off leash? Was he just allowed to run loose(in most places it’s against the law)?how in the world did a vulnerable little dog who had been subject to abuse at some time end up “near” a place all alone? These posts worry me because it’s what they aren’t explaining that’s a problem.

Laura Brinkman We are human and stuff just happens. Plus, he was a feral dog and maybe he thinks he needs to continue being a feral dog and looked for the time to escape. Who knows. Just trying to do the best for the critters we are responsible.
