Maybe try putting some tuna and something in the shed it loves to lay on

Jessica Lewis it might be a bit so be patient, this has shown to be successful though with others. The only thing that usual keeps them from coming back is being fed elsewhere or taken inside someone else's home.

Jessica Lewis most important to leave a door or window or garage cracked open if you can't check outside in the middle of the night. They tend to just run back in at some point

I’m sorry to hear your cat is missing. Most dont go more than a few house radius. Look at night with a flashlight to see eye reflection. Check car engines. I have heard great success stories when owners put out used pet bed and owner’s worn clothing. This helps set up a scent perimeter, helping the cat find the direction of home-even if they’re used to venturing outside. Many don’t come out of hiding until the wee hours of the morn so may be worth setting an alarm and setting up near an open door closest to your scent items. If you’re able hang flyers and check with neighbors and nearby businesses, this could really help. Your baby may have snuck into a shed, garage, or crawl space when the door was open. Hoping your baby makes it home safely and quickly…

They are usually fairly close by. Put out any favorite pungent smelling food and go out at night and shake a treat bag he knows calling for him and always check at night they are nocturnal. Put out litter box, cat tree / blanket or pillow / cat bed he knows. Check neighbors bushes and your own, under things, they can hide in small spaces. Someone on fb found their cat in a gophers hole in the neighbor's back yard. My neighbor just left the garage door cracked (or a window) and their daughter's kitty came back in last night. They do know their way home I feel like. Sometimes someone takes them inside feeling sorry for them or starts feeding them like they are feral stray. Good luck and I hope he comes home or is found soon!
