LOST cat in Machias/Lake Stevens Our cat Lady was last seen when she got into a fight with another cat (not ours but we’ve seen it around) on our property a few mornings ago was spooked off into the woods afterwards. She normally comes back to the hse at night to eat and have safe shelter but hasn’t done so since then, and we haven’t had luck calling her or rustling food etc. She is pretty resilient so we are hoping a predator didn’t find her, and it seems likely that she may have just camped out at someone’s place/shop/shed/land nearby since she’s relatively friendly with people and got scared at the time. She might not know how to get home since she’s newer to the property and has been pretty cautious about roaming beyond our cleared areas since being acclimated (she is from a barn cat program). We are really hoping she just finds her way back home by herself, but are outreaching in hopes someone may see her. Lady is a tuxedo with a clipped right ear, and is pretty vocal if you make sounds at her or call her name. She doesn’t really act like a barn cat and is pretty comfortable with humans (will often come for pets to most people and loves attention but is also a bit skittish and can be a hisser if startled. She generally doesn’t like being picked up). She is chipped and spayed. Located off 147th and 28th, behind LifePoint Church and near Lake Connor Park. Please keep an eye out if you’re near us, she’s an awesome mouser and a super sweet cat that is greatly missed (including by my toddler adores her and who keeps asking “where’s kitty?”). 🥲💜 If she’s found and accessible the best bet would probably be to try to lure her with food (which she loves) and please outreach to us asap. Thanks!
