I'm a proactive cat rescuer. I really hope you get the cat safely back. Here's how to do it. First, get one or more traps from Home Depot or Lowe's. Bait them with your cat's favorite smelly food. Tuna usually works well. We use sardines when we want to catch ferals. Cover the trap with a towel or sheet that has your scent on it. This will decrease the likelihood of other animals from going into the trap. and is likely to attract your cat in particular. Do NOT use your cat's litter box to attract your cat. What you'll wind up doing is attracting predators who want to eat your cat. Plaster every telephone pole in the area with "Lost cat" flyers that have clear colored photos of your cat. Put them in plastic sheet protectors or laminate them; otherwise they will barely last a day. Offer a reward-- a big one, a REALLY big one. Don't just post them, but go door-to-door with these flyers and talk to your neighbors.. The good news is that, if your cat is alive, doing these things is very likely to lead to success. The bad news is that, if this cat continues to go outside, sooner or later, you'll probably never see this cat again. If this cat is unneutered/unspayed, the cat WILL find a way to go out again. Unfortunately, most cats who go outside eventually fail to come back. It's extremely dangerous for cats to be allowed outside. Keeping cats inside more than triples life expectancy. Life expectancy of indoor-only cats: about 16 years Life expectancy of indoor-outdoor cats: about five years See for yourself: http://www.catster.com/lifestyle/how-long-do-cats-live-cat-health-facts

Humane trap and camera are key, plus leaving a door slightly ajar at night for reentry

FYI, there's a scam going around on PawBoost posts of predators contacting people saying they have your pet. They provide no photo evidence of the pet, then agree to meet somewhere, the ask to be sent a reward. Then ask for half up front to meet you. You will NEVER MEET THIS PERSON. They will take your money and you'll never hear from them again. If you encounter this scam-ring, report the account in the app IMMEDIATELY. Also, don't send them ANY good quality photo of your pet. They'll just use Ai to generate another one to make it look like they have your pet. Then you'll pay the FULL price just to get them to come to you,
