🐱🐾Hi. Stay strong. I work at a vet. Please read to the end, the best tips are at the end. Put a can of Tuna outside at the spot she got out. Be careful to keep it in its can, and always clean it up afterwards, refresh this periodically. It’s the best way to attract your cat back. She may have gotten lost or gone off somewhere. Cats lose their scent path in the rain. Keep her Indoors if you find her. You can buy ten cans for $10 dollars at a dollar store, sardines work too. Cats will stick around the area, but may be nervous or frightened, so they won’t come out of hiding. Even if they know you. But they will HEAR you, and will come out later when all is quiet. Try leaving a door open so she comes in on her own. Keep refreshing the food every day or two. The cat should show up. It may take a few weeks. Also, they can leave house lights on at night, and they should put out used, dirty cat litter, and cat bedding. Get a good flashlight, and look around way up underneath porches, behind shrubs, because cats will hide up underneath things. A flashlight will show up glowing eyes. Have your neighbors check garages and outbuilding. She may be locked in. Walk up and down the area, while SHAKING a plastic jar of dry cat food. Cats HEAR this from a distance. She can be humanely trapped, for rescue, too if necessary. Leave your house lights on at night. Tell neighbors and neighborhood kids. Make copies and stuff in peoples mail boxes. Put “REWARD” on safe return, on your posters, with a black sharpie. Protect it with a clear slip sheet, around your neighborhood, and in nearby stores. And don’t worry about rewards, people are nice about it. Stay Strong. 🐱🐾. Put the posters up on each street you mentioned in plain view. Report it in detail to veterinarians, police and your local animal control office. People may call them if she’s sighted. I’ve found many MA cats in my state, so please try everything on my comments. Do this as soon as you can. Never give up. It will take a while. A lot of folks don’t have facebook, and wont look on pawboost, although some will. So be sure to put Reward posters

Did you try the kitty litter trick? Take some litter from their box and sprinkle outside leading to your door then call them constantly especially at dawn and dusk and when it's quiet. Kitty will follow its scent and your voice home. It's no doubt scared and hiding. You can also try a stinky can of sardines! Or if kitty is a cuddler, try putting an article of your clothing by your door. And put out a large bowl of water. Also check area garages, under car hoods, shelters, Nextdoor and Pawboost for found kitties in and near your zip. Don’t give up. And post flyers around your neighborhood. Good luck!

They usually don’t venture far. It’s probably scared & hiding near by in bushes or an open garage. Most kitties will stay put in their safe hiding spot. ( if they’re not fixed they can wonder further, depends on circumstances) Ask your neighbors to check their sheds, decks, garages. They usually venture out at night after 24-48hrs when they start getting hungry. The “witching” hour when they come out is 3am. You’ll have to put other pets away and open door or window around 2:30am. If you see your pet, don’t try to grab it, it’s still on survival mode and will run. Just sit down maybe with some treats and let your pet come to you. (Remember, never put the litterbox outside. Other cats will mark it & scare your cat away. Just in case, also set some humane traps near by, hide them in the bushes where your pet might hide. Good luck & don’t lose hope. Pray to St Anthony, he hasn’t let me down. 🙏🏻🐾
