Message from Owner

Merlin got out of his carrier. He is a very timid, “scaredy” cat. Shy. Most likely will not come to you. He meows loudly though.

Praying Merlin is found safe and soon. Ask neighbors to check cameras and since he is skittish ask if you could look in garages, sheds and under decks. Set up a humane trap where he was lost just monitor it closely with cameras if possible. Notify animal control in nearby towns also. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

They usually don’t venture far. It’s probably scared & hiding near by in bushes or an open garage. Most kitties will stay put in their safe hiding spot. ( if they’re not fixed they can wonder further, depends on circumstances) Ask neighbors to check their sheds, decks, garages. They usually venture out at night after 24-48hrs when they start getting hungry. The “witching” hour when they come out is 3am. If you see your pet, don’t try to grab it, it’s still on survival mode and will run. Just sit down maybe with some treats and let your pet come to you. (Remember, never put the litterbox outside. Other cats will mark it & scare your cat away. Just in case, also set some humane traps near by, hide them in the bushes where your pet might hide. Good luck & don’t lose hope. Pray to St Anthony, he hasn’t let me down. 🙏🏻🐾

Check the trees sheds cellars and dumpsters. Motion lights and cams could help since some send out notifications. Another family pet might bring him out from hiding.

Cats don't usually go far ..tape a shallow plastic container to a yardstick or similar...put Tuna, sardines or warm Rotisserie Chicken... hold the container at ankle height...walk slowly talking softly...stopping often giving your cat time to overcome his fear and come out... cats hide under shrubs ..sheds.. ask neighbors to check cameras... if you don't have cameras ...buy some inexpensive ones and put near bushes and doors..🙏🏻 ...if ever not 100% sure got out...open all cabinet and closet doors...leave them open...put food in each room to see if it's touched
