Message from Owner

PLEASE HELP ME FIND MY DEAR COMPANION CIARA. SHE HAD A VERY TOUGH BEGINNING TO HER LIFE BUT WHEN I BROUGHT HER INTO MY HOME SHE BECAME THIS OLD LADY'S GOOD FRIEND. SHE IS STREET SMART AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN SAFE BUT I AM CONCERNED ABOUT HER WELFARE. THERE ARE ALOT OF OPEN FIELDS AND HUNGRY COYOTES. SHE IS CHIPPED. I ONLY FOUND OUT SHE WAS MISSING NOW AND SHE HAS BEEN GONE A WEEK. I HAD A mishap AND SHE WAS STAYING AT NIMITZ AND NOT WITH ME. PLEASE HELP FIND HER. THANK YOU SO MUCH. SMALL REWARD OFFERED.

I leave a fresh can of wet cat food out every night and have left my clothing as well. i leave the shed door open a few inches. she didn't really like treats but did like her Purina hard cat food. I will put tuna out tonight and the front and back porch lights are always left on. I though I had a lead today when a gentleman said he saw a gray tabby on Gene St in Wonder Lake but when I went there and talked to some people I found out it belonged to someone who lived there. 😔 Thank you for all the advice. It's really hard to not get discouraged but it helps to do the things that help.

** Time is of the essence, for finding your lost cat. ** Your cat is probably nearby. Indoor cats usually find a hiding spot very quickly, and very close to where they escaped. Look up in the trees, and check under everything in YOUR YARD first… under decks, bushes, wood piles and sheds. Then check your neighbors yards. The best time to find your cat is at night, with a flashlight, when their eyes glow back at you. ***If your cat is scared, it will not respond to you calling him/her, so you'll have to use your eyes instead of your ears. *** ***When inside cats are suddenly outside, they can go into "survival mode,” and their entire personality changes.*** They, generally, will NOT wander. At least, not at first. (Unless they are not neutered/spayed.) Make sure to leave food and fresh water outside, in case they come out of hiding at night. Canned tuna (packed in oil) is nice and smelly. Also, a piece of your "worn" clothing, with your scent on it left outside, along with their bedding, with their scent on it, will definitely help. And, if you have a container or bag of treats that they really like.. shake it outside for your cat to hear. Also, leave your garage door or a window open a few inches in case it comes back at night. (5-7 inches.) [A special consideration in the cold weather, is to please CHECK UNDER THE HOOD of your vehicle! Oftentimes, a cat, especially an indoor only one, will seek out shelter or warmth in the engine area of your car. Do not start your vehicle, until you’ve checked! It is oftentimes fatal to your feline!] Hoping you find your cat very soon! ♥️ MS🐈

***POST NEXTDOOR, RING NEIGHBORHOOD, PET FBI, PETCO LOVE LOST, PAWBOOST, PAW GUIDE APP Check ✔️ Humane Society, Animal Shelters In-Person DAILY. Some Keep Pets 5 Days then put up for Adoption. Boots on the ground - Walk ur neighborhood 2X DAILY, DAY & NIGHT, CHECK BUSHES 1st!!! Check window wells, under decks, sheds, garages, behind AC units, dumpsters, under staircases, under BBQ covers, behind firewood. Indoor Cats don't go far, usually close by. THEY HAVE BEEN SO KIND AND SUPPORTIVE AND SO WILLING TO SPREAD THE WORD. I AM SO GRATEFUL TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR COMMENTS, IDEAS, GOOD WISHES AND KINDNESS. I WILL BE PUTTING UP SIGNS TOMORROW HOPEFULLY AS I HAVE THE STOMACH FLU TODAY AND PRETTY DISAPPOINTED I AM NOT ABLE TO GET UP AND CONTINUE MY SEARCHES. THANKS EVERYONE.
