Trying another attempt to see if her owner is in here! I found her on the 18th. She had been lost outside for at least a week. Female pug, spayed, blue green collar, young (vet says 1.5-2 years old) She has no microchip and I have no leads on PawBoost, next door, and my Facebook neighbor groups. My household is growing attached to her and we don’t want to get our hopes up if someone is looking for her. She was absolutely covered in ticks and fleas when she came to us. I treated her for it and took her to the vet. She is also being treated for an eye infection which requires eye ointment 3x day , antibiotics for a disease she picked up from having so many ticks (not Lyme and I forget the name), and antifungal for ringworm. So I will not be giving her away to random people online. She needs round-the-clock medical care and to be quarantined for two more weeks. If you are her owner please reach out! I’m sure you want your baby back asap. But I have no problem hanging on to her for a couple more weeks until she’s healthy too

Thanks so much for helping the dog(s). Use the information that fits your situation. You can greatly increase the chances of finding the owner by creating a FOUND dog post and viewing LOST dogs on the sites below. Please be sure to have a picture of the found dog(s) at the top of your post. A frantic owner will easily pass right by a post without a picture to catch their eye as they scroll through the many posts. You can always verify ownership with family photos, their vet, etc. Since dogs are considered a person's property, state law requires someone that finds a dog to take the necessary steps to locate the owner, post on multiple lost & found sites as a FOUND DOG, scan for a microchip, notify animal control/shelter, etc. Since the finder/owner has no clue where you've posted, put up as many lost and found posts as possible. Remember a dog can travel many miles a day, so it's important to check areas further away from where found. Follow posts with similar dogs/cats. You may end up finding the owner/finder that way. Keep your post active and seen by others by responding and updating everyone with what's happening. Make sure your notifications are turned on since many will simply leave information on your post and not message you. Petcolove.org/lost/ View these same sites for the owner's lost dog post. *****Inform shelters (ACS if in/near San Antonio) that you have the dog since the owner will likely call there first. They may even have the owner's information already. Put up signs in plastic sheet protectors (opening at the bottom) Check for a microchip at a Vet's office or Petsmart for free. If the chip isn't registered, find out who inserted the chip and they will likely have the name of the person that owns the dog. Even if not chipped, there is likely a family searching for their baby. Before rehoming someone's lost baby, please give the owner the benefit of the doubt and time to locate your posts since they can be difficult to find. Keep in mind that stolen dogs, found dogs, etc. can end up getting dumped, too. Verify ownership. Some will try to claim ownership or offer to watch the dog. Please either hold on to the dog and post or take to a no shelter. If someone offers to foster, make sure the rescue they are using actually takes the dog first. Add date found and zip code/cross streets up in the post since most will not see it in comments. You can become a foster through a rescue. They will cover food and medical needs until the owner is found. If the owner is not located, they will find a family to adopt the dog. If you end up taking the dog to a rescue/shelter, please keep your post active w the place you took them listed up at the top.

Aww what a precious little baby ❤️🐾definitely belongs to someone because it is well taken care of and healthy but when someone tries to claim this baby make them send you a real picture not AI generated to your cell phone for proof of ownership that's what bad people are trying to do to get them to use as bait for fighting dog's and they get killed everyday it's heartbreaking and horrible or sell them or breed them, everyone has family picture's of their baby's. Ask them the dog's name and see if it responds to you when you say it. Thank you for saving this precious little baby from getting ran over or in the wrong hands. 🙏🙏🙏💔💔💔🐾🐾🐾🙏🙏🙏

Tick disease.. is it ehrlichia. Keep an eye on her. Ehrlichia can affect their platelets which causes blood to not clot. Bruising, red eyes, bleeding… did they give her doxycycline for the tick disease? I learned about it when we took in a stray covered in ticks. You can message me if you need. I am not a vet, just a foster with dogs and cats that have had various diseases including ehrlichia AND ringworm. I can give ringworm pointers too.

Thank you for keeping this furbaby safe! It sounds like she has found her forever home and if not, please see the above organizations. Both are amazing rescues and I have adopted three of my pugs from them.
