Black cat wearing green collar with bell and tag

Message from Owner

Hello, my girl Darya has been missing since last night (10/17) after she found opened the screen door. She usually comes back an hour after escaping, but has been missing since. She wears a green breakaway collar, with my information on the tag and a little bell. She typically lays down underneath cars or in bushes near Caminito Chiapas, but she cannot be located. She’s usually afraid of people and gets territorial, but is very food motivated. If you have any information on my little girl, please let me know! 🙏

Go around late at night calling them with food and flashlight to catch their eyes. Check around your neighborhood under houses and in small places where they may hide. Put stuff out that has yours and their scent on it. Mainly their litter box and sprinkle their used litter around the yard as they'll recognize the smell and it'll deter other animals from coming around. Hang flyers around for people to see. Check shelters and vets daily. Update chip info if they have a chip and its has not been update since a move. Ask neighbors to check in their garages incase they ended up trapped in one and to check their cameras in case they appeared on them to get a sense of direction they could be. I pray you get your baby back safe and soon.

Cats should not be let out unattended. That is exactly how they get into trouble. 🔎 Searching for her is the fastest way to get her back: 🐾 Sad seeing so many kitties go missing just this week. When a cat goes missing, they can’t easily find their way home using only their scent. Posting is important, but please be proactive and search for her, too. Look under cars, bushes & hedges, look for glowing eyes w/flashlight, call her name at dusk when it’s quiet and they come out from hiding to eat. They don’t go far, 3-4 houses away, they stay in one place until they are scared off by dogs, coyotes, or loud noises. The challenge is finding her before she gets further away. 📣 Please hang flyers near the area she went missing, it’ll let your neighbors know you’re looking for her and get the immediate attention from pedestrians and drivers. You’re the one that can bring her home safely, she’ll recognize your voice, footsteps and your scent. Post on ND, check SDHS Lost & Found daily. If you’re able to find her, PLEASE, please don’t let her out unattended. Cats have the intelligence of a 3yo, they don’t know the dangers they face outdoors from coyotes, dogs, cars, and worst of all evil people who taunt or injure cats. It only takes an hour to train a cat on a leash, then he can be outdoors safely with you. 🐈‍⬛ Good luck finding this gorgeous girl 🐾💜🐾
