Message from Owner

please help find simba - lost near 176st and 40ave hi everyone, my cat simba is missing and i’m extremely worried about him. simba is an indoor-only, neutered orange domestic shorthair cat. he got stuck outside last night and has not come home or been seen around our home since. he was lost near 176 st and 40 ave. he is wearing an orange collar with an airtag attached. the airtag has the letter “s” on it. simba is a very sweet boy, but he is not used to being outside and is likely extremely scared right now. if approached, he may be standoffish, run away, hide, or even hiss because he is frightened and trying to protect himself. please do not chase him. if you see him, please message me with the location and time you saw him.

Is the air tag not working? Many indoor cats return when it's quiet and dark usually between 9:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. so if it is possible, leave the door/window (or garage) open slightly for him to return. If you have any other pets secure them in a room for the night. This works well for these indoor cats that get out. Put out some worn clothing with your scent and keep calling for him frequently as he should hear your voice. Check your yard and ask your neighbor if you can check their yards/patios/bushes thoroughly with a good flashlight. Put up lots of posters with a large colored picture of him around your area. You can also purchase a humane trap at Rona, Canadian tire or on Marketplace. This method works well for these shy indoor cats that get out. Line the bottom of the trap with newspaper and cover the sides and top with a sheet...don't cover the back. You would have to Google how to set it up properly to trap a cat for best results.

Keep calling and shake the treats etc. Put a little of his litter there. He's hiding nearby and very scared. If necessary go out really late when it's quieter and call and shake the treats. Have your cat carrier handy and wait. Don't give up. Keep trying
