Stray Dog Sighting in Wasco, CA 93280

Small-to-midsize dog, perhaps 12-15lbs, black and brown or white markings on its chest and paws.

Hello, These videos were taken minutes ago at 1:45am Monday 9/7/26 at the Tesla Oasis in Wasco, CA. They are not good videos because I initially thought it was just a cute dog playing with its owner. However, it ran off and I then learned that the person whom I thought was its owner had been watching over it and asking around in efforts to find its owner. That person tried looking for it in the direction it ran off, as did my partner and I, and were heartbreakingly not able to locate him/her. I am posting this in hopes that its owners can recognize it and know that he/she is out in that area. I also posted on the “Kern County Lost and Found PETS” Facebook group. I tried immediately reaching out to Kern County Animal Services and was informed that since it is after hours/holiday, they would not address this situation at this time since it is not considered an emergency as the dog was not acting unusual. I will call back during normal office hours and try again. I am not a local and am just passing through, but I am open to suggestions on how to help as this is my first time in this situation and did not know where/who to reach out to. The dog had a collar and I just hope it can make its way home.
