General Information: Set up a scent station. Hang clothes with your scent on it (Worn clothing from owner) high up outside so the familiar scent can travel and guide the cat back home. NO CAT BOX OR FOOD. Ask your neighbors to check their yard/could be accidently stuck in their garage or shed. (If applicable) Check doorbell or home camera - or ask neighbors to check their camera. Post Fliers with a picture of the cat and your contact information in the area the cat went missing. Not everyone is on Social Media and posters have worked in that if spotted a location can be provided. If a cat is scared they make themselves safe by finding a good hiding spot and often times hide in silence. Look in bushes - bring a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Best time to find your cat is in the early morning hours when the noise level is low and they feel safe. Leave an access point open for the cat to return. This is important if they do come back in the middle of the night. Prayers your cat returns/ or is found safely. Beware of scammers.

Please go out at night after traffic noise has down, shine flash light under bushes and things cat can hide under and also in trees. Check out any green spots looking back at you. Call cat and wait for a meow back. CRITICAL INCASE CAT IS TRAPPED SOMEWHERE; start from where cat went missing and workout for a radius of 2 miles, knock on doors and ask in person if they will check sheds, garages, window wells, and other outside buildings for cat. ALSO, put cats bed or an old pair of your tennis shoes to help cat know where your porch is. NOT, a litter box that will attract other animals that may keep your cat away. Scared cats usually don't travel far from where they go missing and will wait for YOU to come find them. Also stop by local shelters and rescues everyother day to see if cat has been. turned in. Message to owner: Please put outside something you just wore like a t-shirt, kitties have great sense of smell, she may smell her way back. Please also check with the local shelter in case she is there and check often and preferably in person, sometimes they don´t give right information over the phone and additionally you can check the web page 24petconnect (which connects you to your local shelter), you just need to enter your zip code and you can also submit a Lost Pet report there. Check with local vets, you never know if someone took it there injured or sick, talk to your neighbors, post flyers preferably with a picture and give one to your mailman, post a flyer in the windows of your car specially the rear window, post one in your closest Petco or Petsmart, call her name specially at night and go out looking for her, look in the bushes with a flashlight which will reflect her eyes. You can also post her in Craigslist Lost and Found, in the web pages 24petconnect, in 3retrievers, pawboost, nextdoor, Lostmykitty, findingrover, in MyLostPetAlert, and in the local Facebook pages for Lost and Found pets If your kitty is not spayed and she comes back, please have her spayed asap in case she got pregnant while missing, please don't take chances of a pregnancy, there are way too many homeless kitties or killed at shelters because sadly there are not enough homes. if you find her, please keep your baby indoors only, way too many dangers outside for kitties like they can get lost, run over, attacked by stray dogs, shot or poisoned by mean people and other dangers besides they are family members and should stay inside with us but never in a crate or room for long periods of time. Be careful with scammers who ask you to give them your cell phone number so they can send you a code OR THEY ASK YOU TO REACH OUT TO A NUMBER OR TO REACH OUT TO SOME RESCUE SITE (OFTEN ON A POPULAR SOCIAL MEDIA SITE LIKE INSTAGRAM OR FACEBOOK) that helped them in the past to find their pet, be very cautious of those, so many are scammers, also be careful if they ask you to message them for tips, don´t trust that, they could easily post them here like the rest of us do. If you have your phone number listed and have offered a reward anywhere, be very careful of people saying they found your pet, if that is true, they should give a proof and send you a picture of your baby, if they don´t, they just want your money, or if they ask you for your cell phone, DO NOT GIVE ANYONE A CODE that they ask for (sent to your phone) when they say they want to verify it’s you. This is how they reset your information, these are scammers Prayers so you find your baby soon K

Please post cross streets. Get out calling Kitty's name especially early and late when it's quiet. Search high and low with a flashlight. Put up posters with number large enough to be seen while driving. And posts on next door.

Create a scent station (items with your/your cat’s smell - unwashed bedding, clothing, cat tower, etc. Especially important if cat is in new/unfamiliar area. Do NOT put out litter pan as feces often used to mark territory and may inadvertently attract predators or territorial cats.). Check it often, especially when things are quiet (late evening/early morning). Leave the garage door open 5” overnight. Check nearby Ring/security cameras in the area. Check in and under everything inside and outside with a flashlight. Cats don’t usually go far and freeze in a tight ball in very small, tight, dark areas when scared. The flashlight catches their eyes’ stare, especially at night. Thoroughly check inside your home, especially if this is a new/shy/scared pet. Post on NextDoor app as it covers your local neighborhoods. Be sure to check your local animal shelter in person at least every other day (can’t stress enough - in person!!! You know your pet best plus animals constantly brought in). If your cat is not spayed/neutered, may be why it is “lost” and traveling further. Hope your pet is home safe and soon.
