Shared. Please put your cat’s carrier or a empty box outside with some of your worn clothing inside also something with your cats sent.Your kitty will be able to smell their way back home. Put a trail of cat nip outside from where cat got out. Leave your garage and lanai doors open enough for your cat to get back inside. Kindly ask your neighbors to check their garages, sheds or any other outdoor hiding place to ensure your cat isn’t trapped. Also check under bushes and cars, up in trees, in and under sheds and in and around ditches and drainage pipes. If cat eats dry food put some in dish cover and walk around outside shaking the dish or cats treats can be used or hold a open can of wet food or open can of tuna.

Put smelly wet food outside, hav a hart traps work, check them often. At night shine a flashlight you may catch reflection of his eyes. Check shed, garages, under cars, anyplace he could hide or be stuck. Put up flyers, especially at vet offices. Talk to neighbors, ask if they have security cameras that may catch him walking by. They tend to move early morning and evenings. Put out used litter and fav humans worn clothes, familiar smells help bring them in. If possible, leave a patio or garage door open so he can get in. Contact rescues & county shelters, take a pic. Physically check county shelter often, they are busy. She will be very scared & may go into survival mode, she may not respond to you. Some wait until they're starving to come out for food. Keep food/trap out & check often. If you have another cat, try putting them outside in a SECURE carrier. Their meows may call the lost one in. Pray. Don't give up!

Cook chicken on the grill. Put catnip outside. Play YouTube videos of kittens crying and shine a laser cat toy around the bushes.

I've run a cat rescue for years and tell you with confidence cats that slip out are always right around the house. Just because you call doesn't mean they respond. They respond when they are ready, not when you are. Do not put food out. It is hunger that encourages them to return home. . . .

You can purchase a trap from Tractor Supply or Home Depot or Amazon or see if you can borrow or rent one from a local rescue or TNR group. Put a piece of your clothing with your scent on it inside and some wet food and set the trap and cover it with a towel (they feel more secure hidden) and monitor it.🙏❣️ remember kitties are naturally nocturnal, so they will hide during the day and move at night time looking for a food source or trying to get home. This is when most of us are sleeping.That's why the trap is ideal. Monitor the trap. If you catch a critter go ahead and release it and wash the trap and reset. They leave a smell behind which may deter your baby from going in. If you catch another kitty, you can always take it to a local vet or shelter for a free chip check and you might be able to help return someone else's missing baby home.♥️ also get a big sign in the front yard so in case someone does have or sees this baby and does not see this post, they can contact the owner that way. Also get lots of signs posted in the neighborhood. Keep checking on your local county FB group pages. You can search the group by "cat" to see all the cat posts only💗

Solid black cat with yellow gold eyes lost If you have lost a cat read my first long paragraph. If you found one, Please read the last paragraph The only way a lost cat can find its way home is with its nose. Immediately anything with the cat's scent on it and anything that stinks of you like your smelly socks something that you sweated in overnight and your stinky sneakers even your dirty clothes and your underwear! Cats usually stay within a five house radius of their own home for up to a week sleeping in the bushes and coming out at dusk Dawn and late at night. These are good times to take walks shaking the treat bag and calling for them. Cats can smell up to a whole mile away. So do that immediately and also put this on nextdoor. com and the other lost and found pet sites. Go on those sites looking at pics of found cats too. There might be a match.They tend to come home late at night or early in the morning so if you can keep a window cracked or a door cracked so at least you hear them. Good luck IF YOU HAVE FOUND A CAT: Please post this on all the lost and found pet pages in your county as well as all the neighborhood pages. Look on those pages just look at the photos try to make a match to someone that lost this cat. Any vet will check for a chip for free. In the meantime please give food and water to the kitty and shelter if you can.

🙏❤️If lost close to home ...leave a door slightly open especially at night .... worked for our pet. Found them sleeping on the couch the next morning . Pets that are lost and scared most often will hide in underbrush tickets or shrubs close to home and feel safe to come out at night to find their way home

Cats have a great since of smell and can smell familiar scents from a mile or more away. So put out some bedding that he used, or something that you have worn that has your scent. Then at night leave a window up enough that you can hear him if he makes a noise. Calling him may help. A guy who had read many suggestions, including trying to call the cat after it was dark, went a bit further and used a Speaker Phone to call his cat.
