Found this little turtle in the road, the wildlife rehab said it's likely someone's pet as it's not a local species. It's currently safe in my room with food and water 🩷

Cass Wilder Yes he was very muddy! We had to reschedule how to clean him without hurting him (the little guy is clean and safe at lollipop farms now) 🐢

Noelle Nagel definitely a box turtle. Might be a “pet” as I’m not sure we have populations in western New York, but likely not a licensed one

Update: he's been taken to lollipop farms to be checked out by the vets there 🩷 if anyone is interested in adopting him he'll be up for adoption next week there 💕
