Post on Nextdoor. If possible, walk on a leash in the neighborhood where he was found to see if he leads you to his home. Take any vet, shelter, or police station to scan for a microchip. Vets do this service for free. Contact local vets, groomers, and shelters (SPCA, etc) to see if a matching pet was reported as lost. Please do not just hand him over to anyone claiming to be the owner or that they will give him a good home. People will take animals and then sell them to dog fighting rings to be used as training bait, sell to labs to be used in experiments, or they abuse, torture them and them. Ask for ID and verify. Ask for vet or adoption records and verify. Ask to see pictures of the pet.
