Get colorful posters up QUICK! Put out stinky food in a bowl on top of a plate of water to keep the ants away(this idea was given to me by the local cat sanctuary guy). It’s best to feed at dusk and dawn because it’s quiet and cats are most active at those times. Put out large posters of your cat in front of your house and in the area where your kitty went missing, cats are usually within a five house radius of where they went missing. Do not give up looking, go out in the early evening and early morning when it’s quiet and call his/her name, put out a piece of his/her bedding but, don’t put out a litter box, it is more likely to get other critters and not him/her. Check the Humane Society in Cocoa, the SPCA in Titusville and Animal Control Shelter in Melbourne in person, just in case he/she was brought in, do not trust their website, they don’t always have the ability to post every animal that comes in. My Miles was missing for 16 days and he was less than a block away and being fed by some wonderful neighbors. He was found because of my signs and talking to people in my neighborhood, if they were breathing I was talking to them. I also printed up flyers with Miles picture and put them on mailboxes. If you do know where your kitty is and it’s been spotted you can borrow a live trap or box trap for a small donation from Space Coast Feline Network, https://www.facebook.com/SpaceCoastFelineNetwork/ All my best that your baby comes home soon, they usually do not go far, their instincts just kick in and may not come home immediately. Get out and talk to people in your neighborhood and DON’T GIVE UP. The best time to look for a cat is late at night after the daytime sounds settle down. Go for a walk and take a flashlite scan into the trees and under bushes. A cat can fit in any hole that they can fit their head thru they have collapsible shoulder blades. Most indoor cats stay close to home but come out at night. Most important is to make your presence known. Go out every half hour after 9pm and call for them and stop and listen it's amazing what you can hear late at night. Get your voice and scent out there. They are looking for you also. Look for glowing eyes at night. If there is a dog sibling that the cat likes take the dog on the walk. If you open canned cat food or shake treats do so on your walk. If the cat has a noisy toy shake it on your walk. Make posters and put in every business within a mile of the home. Let your mail carrier know. If there are teenagers in the neighborhood let them know they love reward money and being a hero. Check all local shelters. Let local veterinarians know your info. If there is a feral colony near you check it out. If you can find the feeder of the colony give them your info. Make large signs and put in neighbors yards at least a mile radius of the home. This ensures that everyone in the area has the info. Put post it notes on your neighbors doors to look in sheds and garages. Post on every Facebook forum in your area. Post on Pawboost and For the love of Louie. Check Humane Society. So important to make your presence known every half hour after 9pm. Make a bed out of the cats carrier and put soiled clothes from inside the home around the bed. Put it as close to the house as you can. Leave a shed or garage open check them often. Camp in your yard. Most indoor cats are found late at night. Don't give up. Do not put food out or litter it attracts every animal in the area including raccoon opossum feral cats and coyotes. Your cat will know that there is food inside and that is incentive to keep them close to the house. If you are outside that's OK but take it in when you go back in. If your cat sees a predator eating their food it might make them retreat further. Most important is to let them know you are looking for them. Hope you find your baby

Leave something outside that has his or your scent it. Look after dark with a flashlight, for glowing eyes. Check with neighbors to see if he got stuck inside a garage or shed. Put up signs in your neighborhood. Check in person at the shelter on Eau Gallie if you don't find him soon. Nextdoor also has a Lost & Found Pets group you can join - https://nextdoor.com/g/sp6bmt4jr

Escaped cats often hide close to home but may be too scared to come when called. Be sure to check all possible hiding spots around the outside of your home. If you go out after dark, you can use a flashlight to check for kitty eyeshine. Also, post on Nextdoor. Good luck! 🍀

Leave your garage door up just enough that your cat can safely get back inside. Do not put litterbox or litter outside as that will attract dominate cats and predators which will keep your cat away and put it in danger. Instead put items with your scent on it outside such as towels or tshirts or socks - much safer.

Go outside every evening and early morning shaking cat treats, clanging food bowls calling for your kitty. At night use a flashlight( this will reflect their eyes if hiding) to check shrubbery, hedges, lower tree limbs, and around anything your cat could hide under. Be sure to have your neighbors check their garages, sheds, under car hoods, etc.

Get bright colored posters for making signs from Dollar stores or Walmart. Get this up asap at intersections and put one in your yard. These are the number #1 tool for reuniting pets as not everyone is on social media or know about these sites. Also quickly print up fliers and pass out to area neighbors & give one to your mail carrier & nearby vets. ✅ pet signs Suggestions on signs. “We cannot emphasize this enough - SIGNS are one of the best ways to locate a Lost Pet or Find An Owner.” https://www.missinganimalresponse.com/neon-posters/
