$1000 reward for his safe return. Brindle American Akita. 100lbs. He is missing three out of four of his kannines. Very tight curly tail. Almost 8 years old.

Message from Owner

He disappeared from our family farm early Saturday Dec 28th. We think someone picked him up thinking he was “lost” as we live in a very rural area. This dog is very important to our family. He was even part of our wedding ceremony.

Sherri Karle how tragic. That is good advice. We have another dog that was not chipped at the time and I immediately went and got her chipped. Typically they ask when we get a pet fixed they didn’t with this one. I will never not have a dog that is not chipped from here on out. Also don’t share the microchip number except with shelters ect as finders can try and use the number to re register it under their name.

Jonathan Zumalt Okay well let me give you AFYI if Mike or chipped which is not a personal thing because even if you put your tip on a privacy hold you need to be aware that can delay reuniting.... Turn on privacy that means only a bit or shelter will contact you will not give the info to the finders..... Also if shelters have tried to call you and for some reason they can't get ahold of you they will adopt an animal out to days in some cases euthanizing... Microchip do you need to call the chip company report missing. Please DO NOT Assume it got registered.. So many owners assume it did and or they also change phone numbers and they don't tell the chip company that's why they're at the shelters as well..... Call the chip company once a week or more every week to see if they've tried to get a hold of you and they couldn't.... Microchip take that ship ID into the shelters ask them to look it up because the deceased will not be on the websites which ALL owners should be checking several times a day. In Sacramento County by animal control they will take to Bradshaw shelter. If City of Sacramento picks up they will take to Frontstreet shelter...FYI My several owners did assume they would get calls from the shelters and did not... Because they assumed they registered their microchip when they did and the numbers that had on file there was typos that somebody entered incorrectly

Sherri Karle I don’t know how much the folks who have him monitor my posts or not so I don’t share everything publicly.

Sherri Karle I have reposted once a month on various different pages. Not on PawBoost though I didn’t think about commenting here to bring it back up again. He is and is reported stolen. Granted we don’t know that the people who currently have him are the ones that took him as dogs do get traded around quite a bit.

Jonathan Zumalt FYI If there are no comments on posts or any updates then they will just keep dropping down the newsfeed and you know how many there are people will start forgetting. This is why it is so important you keep posting daily or every other on the Nextdoor App and Neighbor'sring App especially But again is he Microchipped for his sake??
