Cook a ham or a roast and open your windows. Walk outside with the roast in a plastic bag calling pets name when you can listen and it’s quiet with no traffic, in 3am. Tape posters on mailboxes, put out blankets that have your scent, open your windows. Knock on all your neighbors doors asking if you can look underneath things, could be hurt. never give up🙏

From SPCA on how to find a lost cat: look around for the closest hiding places. Bring a flashlight look in storm drains; in the heavy brush; up in trees, inside or under sheds; inside garages; under decks; and inside basement crawl spaces – any place where your cat can hide. Stay close by – newly adopted or indoor-only cats are often found within a 3-house radius of their home. Remember your cat may not meow back when you call even though your cat is most likely close by. Your cat is most likely hunkered down to the ground and ready to dart away from any perceived threat – even from you! A cat’s instinct is to hide, stay put, and NOT meow. Put Food, Water, Litter Box, and Bedding Outside: place near the point of escape or close to a good hiding spot nearby. Use strong-smelling canned cat food that your cat can smell from a distance, so your cat knows where to go for food a can of tuna or sardines works wonders. Go out extremely late at night and early mornings with a flashlight and can of tuna, keep your garage door or patio door open a little so the cat can get in. LEAVE YOUR DOOR OPEN SLIGHTLY DURING THE TIME YOUR HOME SO IT CAN GET BACK IN, MAYBE EVEN PUT SOME FOOD BY THE DOOR. Talk to Neighbors: Immediately start talking to your closest neighbors. and ask them to actively search their own property for your cat. Put signs up in your immediate neighborhood with large print saying, “LOSS CAT.” Include a photo, date lost, and phone number where you can be reached 24/7. It could take days, or longer, to get your cat back inside. Do not give up if your cat fails to show up after a day or so. And do not just wait for your cat to come back. You need to actively search how much time has passed, your cat may be moving from one hiding spot to another. Also, try new spots and enlarge your search area step by step, house by house. Post on "Next-door" app for your area, go out looking for your fur baby and when found keep the cat inside. check https://www.pawboost.com/lost-found-pets?status=101..I would also check the Nevada Humane Society and look at pictures of cats up for adoption, in case kitty was found and not claimed in 5 days and sent there for adoption. Have you asked neighbors to check inside their sheds, garages and under decks? Maybe give them some food to put in these places for few days to see it it gets eaten, also water. There was a loss cat found locked in a shed for 2 weeks alive but skinny, so it's possible. Are you sure kitty got out could be hiding in house, check under, in and behind all furniture and appliances, check in all drawers and cabinets, under mattress and in all vents if you live in an apartment community, ask the office if they can send out a mass email to all the residents so they can watch for the cat, include a picture .

Lost Cat Go outside and call for your cat like every five or 10 minutes relentlessly. If you have a can of treats, I would shake that every five or 10 minutes as well. A lot of times cats are scared and hiding close by. I say this from experience with my own cat I really hope you find your kitty.🙏🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🙏

Missing Cats post Here are some tips that may help! - [ ] Look at night and early morning (and often as you can of course) and use a strong flashlight and look for the glow of the eyes. They may be under cars, or bushes, but looking for the glow of the eyes will help. When you do look, shake that treat bag and call out to them loudly and often, but walk slow and look behind you often in case they do hear you and are trying to catch up to you. Ask close by neighbors to check their security cameras and ask them to take a look in their backyards/ garages, most cats won’t be too far and this is the best bet! Knock on the door and personally ask (bring a buddy) but if they don’t answer, leave a flash card asking them to check their backyards/cameras with your contact number ready. I would put up flyers but I am a huge believer in the flash card at the door step. That way it really does “ask” those people to double check their yards. If you have a garage, leave it cracked enough for a cat only (not too high open), and bring out some dirty laundry/used blankets that have your smell on them and place near the opening of the door so the kitty may smell their way back. I personally don’t like to leave food because if they do just eat, they may leave again. So skip the food for now if you want, only leave out the dirty clothes bin. Check Washoe County if they are not chipped. If they are chipped, they’ll reach out to you instantly! Post on Nextdoor app (again asking nearby neighbors to check their yards! I know I keep saying this, but asking people straight up to look, is better than hoping they do just by seeing the poster..). And check the neighborhood OFTEN ! You cannot expect kitty to just know where to come back to. Unfortunately that’s a common misconception and it just don’t work like that, they are LOST and they need you to FIND THEM. Lastly, DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE! It may be hard, and hopeless as the days go on, but seriously, don’t give up ! They may be in someone’s backyard a block away eating the door food they leave out for their pets, or some old lady who doesn’t have social media may have them thinking it’s a friendly stray. No. Get out , and don’t give up! I’ve know people who’s cat went missing for MONTHS, just to drive down a road near their house and see their cat in a random yard only blocks away, and one story where the neighbor four houses down had the cat the whole time but never saw the posters ! Please don’t give up! Ask friends and neighbors for help. Don’t care if it seems embarrassing or awkward going around the neighborhood calling for your cat, people will understand and not think you’re weird, do not care what people think when it comes to trying to find your cat! And if you think a pet trap may help, then reach out to lots of rescue groups and ask to borrow one (they are useful if you know the cat is close by but hard to physically catch or if they are seen nearby and may be hungry ), otherwise, they are not very helpful in my opinion. If the cat has been spotted, then using a trap with smelly wet food may be useful, but that is the only time I think leaving food out may help. I commented my normal comment that do for any missing cat post, but I am currently also missing a cat and what somewhat helped was I cracked my garage door, set up a baby monitor (I bought from Walmart for 40$ but I use it a lot as a home monitoring system so it’s worth it, the the Hubble brand) never the cat food I also set up (smelly smelly tuna with a trail of tuna juice leading from the street to the camera) and dirty clothes of mine set outside also near the camera angle, and I caught a feral cat (not mine unfortunately but hey it still worked!) coming up and eating food. Definitely recommend this method if you have a garage door or just a back door you can leave cracked or even just a porch. The camera allows us to double check the area even when we sleep. Highly recommended because my first night I still caught a random cat on camera, I’m hoping to catch mine next (a drop trap is used as a next step, but for your cat, I would recommend using only a little food so they are hungry enough to come back the next night). Good luck! You got this, stay strong! ❤️ 🐾
