THE PSYCHOLOGY BEHIND PEOPLE WHO KEEP YOUR PET: PROFILE 1: THE "KEEPSIE" (Finder-Keeper) Psychology: These are people who convince themselves they’re doing the right thing by keeping a found pet. Often believe “finders keepers” or that they’re a “better” owner They may even rationalize that they “rescued” your pet — especially if your dog looked scared, dirty, or was outside alone. Motivations: Emotional attachment: “My kids love this dog now.” Hero syndrome: “I saved it.” Avoiding hassle: “I don’t want to get involved with animal control.” Fear of losing something they now like. What Messaging Works on Them: Best tactics: “No questions asked” reward Make it easy — offer to meet anywhere, anytime No questions asked. 🐾 There Are Two Types of Lost Pet Flyers: 1. Community-Oriented Flyer (No Reward) ✅ Best for: General public, animal lovers, helpful neighbors ✅ Goal: Spread awareness, recruit people who are already inclined to help ✅ Effective design: “LOST DOG” or “FOUND DOG” large and bold Clear photo Date & location Contact info ✅ Works because: The target audience cares already. 2. Bounty/Reward Flyer (With AMOUNT!) ✅ Best for: opportunists, people who have or saw the pet but didn’t act ✅ Goal: Motivate action from people who need a reason (money) to do the right thing ✅ Effective design: "$2-500 REWARD with the amount as the biggest text NOT LOST DOG NOT HAVE YOU SEEN ME Pet photo Large contact info ✅ Works because: What's in it for them.. It turns a flyer into a cash incentive.

Still can't find your pet? 1. Have you posted 👉👉three times a day on next door AND Neighbors by ring? (NOT THE RING APP) 👉👉 Have you commented on your post two or three times to get it going? 👉👉 Have you continued to comment for a few days so everyone in your neighborhood to see it? Or did you just post and move on to post somewhere else? 2. Did you put a reward in the first sentence? 👉👉👉With the amount? 3. Did you put a reward AND your phone number plus ONE BIG CLEAR picture of your pet on all the garages on your street? And the one behind your house? If that didn't work... 4. Did you call all the veterinarians within 10 miles of you to see if A PET MATCHING YOUR PETS DESCRIPTION was brought in injured or deceased hit by a car? 5. Did you call the local police department and ask for dispatch and see if anyone reported a deceased pet matching yours description for dead animal pickup? 6. Did you crop everything out of the picture but your pet and put it on Petco love lost?

Frenchies are one of the top stolen dogs probably 8 out of 10 are never seen again. You don't motivate a thief with a flyer that says have you seen me. You have to put money on it. Hopefully a nice person finds your dog and returns it just because but it's like a 10% chance. You need to hurry.

Put a reward and put the amount make your Flyers simply have reward the amount your phone number and a picture of your dog. Put flyers on all the houses on your street and the next one on both side of you and at the major intersection closest to where you pull out of the neighborhood.
