Borrowed tips from another. Supervise while considering, as in some areas, some tips could also attrack unwanted visitors. Hi! 🐈Lost Cat tips/ideas. ⏰*TIME is important 🛑NO kitty litter! See below why. *Instead hang out clothing with your human scent ( dirty *socks* etc) replace daily. **Your kitty may still be close by. #1hiding spot under stairs/decks #2 in or under sheds/garages #3 in or under cars. Get a bright 🔦flashlight use day or night, some cats will not meow to give away their hiding spot as they are in survival mode. 👀Talk/Call calmly softly+shake treats. Listen. Repeat. **POSTERS/FLIERS DOOR TO DOOR **Include phone # for quick contact** when a sighting happens. Also put up on poles/mail boxes. *☎️Ask your neighbors to check their sheds, baby barns & garages as kitty may have been LOCKED😭 inside. *It is best to call for kitty late at night or early morning as they will usually hide during the daylight. **Sometimes, if you can leave your door/window open, they will come back in on their own. Just LOCK UP any other pets in another room. **Please post to your personal fb page. Set to public so we can share it. **Contact local vets, animal controls, SPCA, shelters. Kijiji. 🎵Radio . **Consider asking to borrow a humane Live Trap & Cam. 🐈*Good luck & never give up🐾 **👀 and post in Any 🏡community group that allows! ** 🛑 Kitty litter isnt always recommended by any trained animal rescue or trappers as it can also attract unfixed territorial cats and predators to the area. In cities or urban areas, less likely to get predators so may be ok under supervision. Other ideas to use dirty laundry with human scent replaced daily. POSTERS/Flyers door to door most effective way to spread the word, asking people to check sheds, garages. Check local rescues, vets and animal services daily in case someone picked up and turned kitty in to them. 🙏🐾🐈❤

Shared My experience for my escapees escaped from my house may work for apartment too not sure. Try this it worked for my two cats they escaped at diff times. Play cat sounds from your phone place your phone up against screen at their fave window. Let the sound loop for awhile wait and do again. If you spot them grab their bag of snacks take with you. Do not approach the cat they will run just keep saying their name and let them see u shake the treat bag and put some treats down on the ground all while talking to them wait for them to start eating then slowly approach and slowly grab. Worked for me on both cats.

Also immediatly contact and report your missing animal to: Kelowna spca (250) 861-7722 Okanagan humane society (250) 448-8554 BC Pet Registry 1-855-622-7722 Here are some research-backed tips to hopefully help: Source: https://fb.watch/oJ8SUK9n9I/ (via Front Street Animal Shelter - City of Sacramento) COMMON MISTAKES: - Waiting a few days to see if the cat comes home - Not checking your local shelters at LEAST once every 3 days (cats can show up in shelters weeks or months after going missing) - Don’t only do 1 or 2 of the tips LOST CAT BEHAVIOUR: - INDOOR ONLY - Panics from the stimulus, bolts, and hides nearby - On average, they’re found 45 meters away (50 yards) — that’s about the size of 2 and a half houses. (I spoke to one lady whose indoor cat was found even farther than that, so it’s just a ballpark estimate.) - OUTDOOR access cats (outdoor regularly) - Usually had a reason why they didn’t come home (e.g., being chased into an unfamiliar area, getting trapped in a shed or up a tree, or injured) - On average, they’re found within 315 meters (344 yards) — that’s about the distance of 17 houses in any direction from your house (a 17-house radius) - Both cats usually hide invisibly and silently, in a secluded area (like under a deck) - Skittish cats can hide for 1-2 months before finally becoming hungry and desperate enough to approach a stranger. (Scared cats do not meow! This would give away its location.) WHAT TO DO: 1. Make sure the cat really is lost (check your closets, cupboards, under furniture, and in upholstery) 2. Do a thorough search around your property. Check every nook and cranny. Cats are more likely to come out at night, so use a flashlight and look for the reflection of their eyes around trees and bushes. 3. Lure them back home. If you know which door or window they escaped from, try to leave it open, especially at night. Put their bedding and some of your used clothes near the bedding or your window. 4. Search the neighbourhood. Knock on neighbours’ doors, leave flyers if they’re not home, and ask them if you can look around (and if not, if they can take a look around possible hiding spots). It’s important to ask if YOU can look, because neighbours are less likely to get on their hands and knees to look around when it’s not their cat. 5. Set a trap. One of the best ways to catch a cat is to set a humane cat trap. Google “feral cat trap”. You might be able to rent one. See the video around 4:29 for what they look like and how to set one up. 6. Update your cat’s microchip. Contact the company every time you move or change your phone! 7. Make lost pet posters. Make them large, fluorescent, have a coloured photo of your cat, and the information (brown tabby, male shorthair, your phone) in letters on white paper. 8. Check your local shelter(s) at least once every 3 days. In the Okanagan, I’ve added the list of the shelters below. Always a good idea to visit the shelters in person. Only 1 in 10 cats at shelters get picked up by their owners, because people only check once or twice. 9. Check other resources (like Craigslist) 10. Use Finding Rover (now available in Canada), which uses AI facial recognition to scan participating shelters for your pet. 11. If you see your cat, stay quiet and calm (don’t chase them). Offer food and approach slowly. 12. Don’t give up! - AlleyCats Alliance (Penticton) (250) 462-8195 - Critteraid (Summerland) (250) 494-5057 - Okanagan Humane Society (Kelowna) (250) 448-8554 - BC SPCA (Penticton & Kelowna) (250) 493-0136 - Happy Tails Cat Rescue Society (Oliver) (250) 809-1572

*Keep trying what's listed....All the best in your beautiful cat's return,~💜💜 **Cats that get outside, they tend to panic & hide, usually close to home. When it's dark out, go outside with a flashlight or headlamp & look under every bush, vehicles anything they might go to for safety around your home. Watch for their Eyes to light up with the beam of the flashlight. Let neighbors know, they sometimes will get locked in an open shed & Put posters up. Leave out some bedding/clothing of theirs & yours, but NOT the litter box. However some folks have set the litter box out with success - this is up to you. Going out with a bag of treats OR whatever your cat loves to eat... calling their name. IF at all possible to leave a window or door open, when it's quiet many have come back. Continue looking & calling. The cat is scared & hiding & may have been chased. REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT! ***IF you are traveling with your cat - USE A CRATE most cats are freaked at traveling in a vehicle, at the first chance they have they RUN, no matter how careful you think you are opening a door. For their safety = CRATE ****Consider building a CATIO if possible, fb/websites have many options. https://thefurbearers.com/.../catio-season-why-cat.../

Not sure if this will help, but you could try.. Please place its bedding 🛏 outside, along with the owner's unwashed clothing👚👖 front and back door 🚪with a contents of tuna can 🐟 on each entrance, you can leave your garage door a bit open as well. In case it comes in that way. And leaving food there as well...supervise food outdoors. Also vaccumed home 🧹dirt in a stocking hanging it in front and back of home🏡 enterence . You can also add some catnip 🌱in a stocking hanging by your entrances. Show your neighbors 🖼picture of the🐈 cat. 10 houses to the ⬅️ left 10 house🏡 to the right➡️ front ⬆️ and back⬇️ if they spot him to give you a call ☎️ immediately. Also, you can put up a Sign post 🪧with your 🐱📷 picture. In front of your 🏡lawn and to call you or contact you ASAP. Go early ⏰️ in the ☀️morning and shake treats calling the cats name when things are quiet.. Tell neighbors to check their sheds and garage ,under vechcals .Just in case it's trapped.. Would be wise for you to inspect their garages, Sheds, back yards 📣 Calling the 🐱 name. In case it is scared.. Also, you can install a camera / Baby monitor 📹 to monitor and see & hear if the cat is around your house 🏡. You can even ask your Local Pet 🐱 Animal Shelter to Rent out a Safe Trap and monitor it.. Post your ad on your phone 📲 app NEXTDOOR, & PAWBOOST too ! Praying for a soon safe return 🍀 of your kitty .🙏 ❤️🏡🐾 Also, Please consider putting a 🧭 📍Tracker on Once you have your 😺 .......
