Gray cat about 6/7 months old. He has long hairs that grow out of his ears and curl outward.

He was an indoor outdoor kitty. Normally super playful and hyper but sweet and cuddly when it came time for bed. He would always come home every single night and if he wasn’t back before I went to bed I’d always wake up and he’d be waiting for me to let him in on our porch chair. Me and my 4 kids miss him so so much we’ve been through a lot together sense April and I have a horrible feeling he got into some mouse poison or something and left to go die or maybe he’s just not all there right now..I have no clue. I literally was going to take him to the vet becuase he was acting a little strange about 2 days before he never came back. I just wasn’t quick enough to put the pieces all together 😭 He puked 1 time I thought it was a hairball. I noticed him meowing a couple times out of nowhere (Iv never heard him meow before unless my 1 year old was messing with him) His last poop was super runny I noticed and that’s when I told myself I’m going to call and take him in and by the next day I let him out in the morning and he never came back Monday night 😭

Take treats, and a flashlight, out with you and call him in the quietest hours of the early morning around 3-4 :30 a.m. when your voice will carry farther. Look in hiding spots and trees, and listen for him. Most indoor cats don't go far when they get outside they get scared and hide during the day and come out at night when it's quiet and dark. They often try to return home during those hours so be watchful for him then. Put something outside your home with your scent or his scent on it to help him find his way home. Put up colored flyers around your neighborhood and businesses then go door-to-door with one and ask your neighbors to check in their sheds and garages to make sure he didn't get accidentally shut in somewhere. Go to shelters IN PERSON as descriptions are not always accurate. Don't give up! Keep calling him! It may take him a while to come out of hiding if he is very scared or has wandered farther away but if he hears your voice it will keep him close by until he eventually gets brave enough to come out of hiding and follow your voice home. Leave a way into your house ie your garage door up 4-6 inches with a live trap with smelly food inside. Check frequently.

Your Missing Cat will try to re-enter the home when the neighborhood is quiet. If it all possible, leave the door/window ajar that the kitty escaped from and secure other companion animals to a separate room of the home. He/she will try to re-enter when the neighborhood is quiet in the evening and overnight hours. Make sure you physically check underneath and in the engine compartment of your vehicles prior to starting in the morning. Litter box WILL attract community cats and predators, potentially pushing your lost cat out of the area. Clothing/bedding that smell like him/her and his/her family outside the home immediately. If you have a garage, leave the door open enough for him/her to get in. If you live in a mobile home community look under yours and your neighbors homes. Check around your home: bushes, up in trees, deck, porch etc. If their head fits their body will too! Door knock neighbors and ask them to check outbuildings, sheds, garages and ring cam footage. Go out periodically through out the night shaking his/her treats or opening a can of wet food and call to him/her. Renting/borrowing/buying a live trap and setting within the first 24 hours your cat has been missing is a good idea. Live traps need to be monitored frequently. Be prepared to release wildlife. Posting flyers in your neighborhood as well as getting a flyer to rescues, shelters and animal control services is very essential to the recovery of your lost pet.

Put something out with your scent on it. Call for your kitty in the quiet hours of the night. Put up fliers and ask your neighbors to check their garage/sheds. Report to animal control and humane society.

Have you gone around your home outside looking under porches and decks with a flashlight, along bushes and fences to see if he’s hiding out somewhere. cats go into a weird hiding modes when they don’t feel well. go door-to-door with flyers or large notes letting neighbors know your cat is missing. Ask them to open their garage or any other building on their property to see if kitty is inside because it happens often.
