If your kitty is missing, they often don't go far. Leave out warm/cold water and food in a clear storage bin turned on its side, post fliers (try wired ground signs). Check at dawn & dusk or after dark with a flashlight. Quietly look under bushes/decks/cars for eyeshine & movement, call them softly and listen -have treats ready. Check the area from where they were lost & put out/hang unwashed items that smell like you/them -scent carries. Call into the storm drains -sound echoes. Consider sprinkling litter around the perimeter of your yard. Look in sheds & crawl spaces, especially if you or a neighbor has had work done recently or one has been left open. You could try repositioning security cameras if you have any to see if you spot them after dark. You could also try a humane trap, available on Amazon. Not hard to use - just don’t leave it open & set for hours without checking it, or overnight if not being watched. Leave a heating pad on low in a crate/box if cold at night. Post fliers, send pic & info to local vets & animal control, &, if microchipped, make sure info is up to date & they are marked as lost/missing. Look for sites on Facebook or elsewhere to post – county animal control groups often have pages where you can post. ( Lost & Found Pets - Richmond, VA , Lost or Found Pets in Chesterfield, Richmond and all over Virginia , Lost & Found Pets - Richmond, VA ) There's lots of info online. Here’s a video for lost cats: youtu.be/g2eCoC63B9I - Other orgs offer good information for lost, stray or feral cats too. (petfbi.org/, www.alleycat.org/, www.neighborhoodcats.org/, alleycatadvocates.org/) Other places to post: Nextdoor.com, Pawboost.com & Ring Neighbors if you have it. Note that leaving out litter &/or food in multiple places could be both confusing & attract other cats/animals, so do as you feel appropriate. Praying they stay safe & are home soon.

Beautiful cat Hope this helps….and just heard one was found after 45 days Watch this video on finding your lost cat ….. https://youtu.be/g2eCoC63B9I 2 important things, Remember your cat is probably close by unlike dogs that keep running, that said days of searching can turn into weeks or even months so, never give up or assume. AND, save this, share it and help a lost cat if one pops up in your feed Try all of this, Put some dirty clothes out for scent. look and call every night not just a day or two, especially after midnight and early a.m.hours with a 🔦👀. sometimes if hurt or scared they just lay low but need a familiar voice. maybe a trap if you get any sightings. And, use some smelly food to entice them but dont leave it out, will only attract unwanted critters. 💔 🔺So once again, chances are it’s nearby. Also read this from another post.(and the looking at night is so important). ……. “My cat escaped so I read up on missing cats, Apparently indoor cats don’t usually go too far, they get scared and hide, but they feel safer moving around between midnight and 5 a.m. So we turned off all of the lights in the front yard and at the front door, (ours had been missing for almost 2 full days at that point). We called his name, shook some treats, smelly food and waited, repeating etc etc. Sure enough a little while later he came back. We were blown away that it worked.” SWP🙏🏻🙏

Zach is so handsome! ❤️ I know you both must be so worried and scared! Praying for a quick and safe return of your beautiful boy, Zach. If you haven’t already, my suggestion would be to post on Next Door for additional visibility, especially in neighborhood/complex and local area. Also, please post visible signs in your neighborhood/complex for those who don’t have access to these other platforms, and to grab attention of foot traffic of those walking their pets. He is most likely scared and hiding nearby, so hopefully you can leave out food (something smelly like sardines and mackerel, along with his regular food by itself) and something familiar to him, so it attracts him back. The other suggestion would be to get a Ring or Blink camera that sends notifications to your phone. Zach might be coming out/back at night and hiding during the day. Hang in there. Don’t give up! Keep sharing, including of Facebook Lost/Found Groups! 🐈‍⬛❤️🙏
