Message from Owner

Hi neighbor, Our indoor/outdoor cat, Luna, did not appear for breakfast on Thursday morning, August 20th. She had asked to go out the previous night at 11 pm. In the summer, she sometimes spends the night outside and is usually sleeping on the porch in the morning when we get up. We’ve checked with DPW, and no animal remains have been reported, and also with Animal Control, which did have any reports of lost cats. We’re hoping that she was unexpectedly taken inside by someone who thought she was a stray, or is trapped someplace, possibly injured. Would you check any spot on your property that a cat might get into and not be able to get out again? She did once get stuck in a tree, so that’s also a possibility. We also recognize that there have been occasional coyote sightings in Cambridge. If you have any outdoor cameras with footage from the past month, have you noticed any coyotes in the neighborhood? Or for that matter, any cats from the early morning hours of August 20th? Thank you and please feel free to text or email us with any information or ideas. Anastacia and Dalila Appleton St.

.Please place his bedding 🛏outside, along with the owner's unwashed clothing👚👖 front and back door 🚪with a contents of tuna 🐟 on each entrance, you can leave your garage door a bit open as well. In case it comes in that way. And leaving food there as well...supervise food outdoors. Also vacuumed home 🧹dirt in a stocking hanging it in front and back of home🏡 enterence . You can also add some catnip 🌱in a stocking hanging by your entrances. Show your neighbors 🖼picture of the cat. Ten houses to the left ten house to the right front and back if they spot him to give you a call☎️ immediately. Go early in the ☀️morning and shake treats calling the cats name when things are quiet.. Tell neighbors to check their sheds and garage.Just in case it's trapped.. Also, you can install a camera 📹to monitor and see if the cat is around your house . You can even ask your local animal shelter to rent out safe trap and monitor it.. Best of luck 🍀finding your kitty 🙏 ❤️🏡🐾

What do you expect letting her out all night long in a city. Your fault if she's found dead. So stupid.

Place to households members “dirty” laundry or bedding with your scent and her’s on it in your yard. Do not put her litter box or food outside. It could attract predators. Tell all your neighbors and ask them to check garages, sheds, under decks and porches, etc. Make posters on brightly colored poster board and post them in your neighborhood. Look for her at night using a flashlight. The light will reflect in her eyes. In the evening, when the neighborhood quiets down, go outside and call her quietly. If you can leave your door that kitty went out of, slightly ajar, it would be helpful. If she is normally an indoor cat, they house in that area.

This is what happens more often than not when cats are allowed outside. How do people not realize that? I'm a proactive cat rescuer. I really hope you get the cat safely back. Here's how to do it. First, get one or more traps from Home Depot or Lowe's. Bait them with your cat's favorite smelly food. Tuna usually works well. We use sardines when we want to catch ferals. Cover the trap with a towel or sheet that has your scent on it. This will decrease the likelihood of other animals from going into the trap. and is likely to attract your cat in particular. Do NOT use your cat's litter box to attract your cat. What you'll wind up doing is attracting predators who want to eat your cat. Plaster every telephone pole in the area with "Lost cat" flyers that have clear colored photos of your cat. Put them in plastic sheet protectors or laminate them; otherwise they will barely last a day. Offer a reward-- a big one, a REALLY big one. Don't just post them, but go door-to-door with these flyers and talk to your neighbors.. The good news is that, if your cat is alive, doing these things is very likely to lead to success. The bad news is that, if this cat continues to go outside, sooner or later, you'll probably never see this cat again. If this cat is unneutered/unspayed, the cat WILL find a way to go out again. Unfortunately, most cats who go outside eventually fail to come back. It's extremely dangerous for cats to be allowed outside-- but you already know that, yet you choose to let her outside! "We also recognize that there have been occasional coyote sightings in Cambridge." This is willful negligence on your part. I hope you never have another animal unfortunate enough to fall into your reckless hands again. If she provides a meal to a predator, her blood is on you. Keeping cats inside more than triples life expectancy. Life expectancy of indoor-only cats: about 16 years Life expectancy of indoor-outdoor cats: about five years See for yourself: http://www.catster.com/lifestyle/how-long-do-cats-live-cat-health-facts
